Drama Discussion
The last two weeks of Music Appreciation class has left me with more appreciation for Nodame Cantabile. Not only is it great to hear familiar pieces, but also to be able to contribute to the discussion with the things I've learned from the performances in the series. :victory:

Cool.
Have you introduced Nodame to your classmates?

I'd be reluctant to do so, as I'm sure it might be different from any show they've seen. Not sure how they might take it. Maybe if someone asks. The pieces played and discussed all come from the textbook and accompanying discs, so I'm not surprising anyone that they might ask where I got the information from.
Still, it's awesome to hear a piece and be able to quickly tell the professor what the title is  We were listening to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture in class and I was able to explain what the piece was about. Not using the info from the book, but rather remembering from the first movie the voiceover by Chiaki telling the story as he was conducting. In a way, the series has saved me a little bit of time from reading :victory: :beaten:

Nodame Cantabile should be required viewing for Music Appreciation classes when going over the Classical and Romantic eras. :beaten:
I still have to do the readings of course since the series doesn't cover everything Classical, but it's nice to know come exam time there will be some questions I'll be able to answer with what I learned while watching.
Well Nodame Cantabile is entertainment, AND infotainment. :hehe:

Too bad Nodame wasn't around when I was in music class... It would've made things a lot more interesting and enjoyable. :)
I keep wondering because I think I missed watching something in the series or the movies SP.
Then the next I saw was Chiaki giving his performance against Stresseman's (spelling?) pupil and Chiaki won. Then Chiaki returns to Japan and the music school w/Stresseman for a performance Stresseman passes out(?) and then goes back on a break because he misses Nodame.
I think I missed something. Help please!
Spoiler — click to reveal
I remember watching them all in school. Then Nodame went home and Chiaki senpai followed her and found her there and met with her family blah blah blah then they go back to school and announce to all that they are going abroad. Next thing I remember watching, they were in Europe and Nodame ate everything in site, Chiaki had a new love interest w/Russian(?) girl and Nodame held a concert that was a successful ("flop" :hehe: ) but her professor really liked her. Then the next I saw was Chiaki giving his performance against Stresseman's (spelling?) pupil and Chiaki won. I don't think you missed anything... Other then some of those events are out of sequence. ;)
Tanya Vishnova wasn't Chiaki-senpai's love interest at all.

Oh well that's good to know. I don't know why I was thinking that I missed something with this one. You're right I think I meant to say that she was interested in Chiaki.

He did have an interest in Son Rui, but more for her talent and skill... And I guess the same for Nodame, but warmed to her quirkiness... :)
^ what's up with the Death Star in the middle of the disc?
