hey, guess what?
I found a clip of Priyanka singing live at TEMPTATION 2004. It's really more so at the end of the clip, the last minute or so, the bulk is SRK and an audience member, but wait till the end and you'll hear her sing- she's really good.
So here:

this result make me shocked! And sad Shah Rukh Khan lost with Hritik for Best Actor But when it comes to Most Searched Actor in Internet, I know the winner must belong to him But I'm quitely shocked with Priyanka Chopra. She is now standing in the same part with Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee ne~~great!

I'm really happy for Bipasha- she's got power in her voice, and that's what's helped her acting abilities. _________________

By Taran Adarsh & Asif Merchant, December 13, 2006 - 04:03 IST
Now that the 2nd G.I.F.A. Awards have concluded and all sorts of articles -- positive and negative -- are doing the rounds of the Indian media, itfs time to sit down and analyze what clicked and what didnft at this yearfs mega event.
Having attended I.I.F.A., Zee Cine Awards and G.I.F.A. since their inception for many years now, I am a little pained at the derogatory articles that keep coming out after each event concludes. Most of these articles, I presume, are the handiwork of those who arenft on the guest-list. Their mantra is simple: Tum humko nahin maante, hum tumko nahin jaante!
Believe me, itfs very easy to sit on this side of the fence and say that the arrangements were bad or the food was atrocious or the award ceremony was pathetic, but does anyone realize the kind of hard work and planning that goes into every event of this magnitude? I.I.F.A., Zee and G.I.F.A. are at least making a sincere attempt to take Hindi cinema global and if at all there are any minor hiccups and glitches, is it right to crucify them?
Let me talk of G.I.F.A., since itfs this event thatfs the punching bag presently! Agreed, the first G.I.F.A. Awards in Dubai had its share of problems and controversies, but the 2nd G.I.F.A. Awards in KL, Malaysia were really well organized. Right from the travel arrangements to the hospitality to the grand event, Suniel Shetty and the Popcorn team worked day and night to ensure that the weekend was spectacular and people came back with rich memories. At least I didc and I know of a lot of people who felt that Suniel worked tirelessly to make this event a major success.
Believe me, if there was any star that shined the brightest at G.I.F.A., it wasnft Shah Rukh, Salman or Abhishek. It was Suniel Shetty, who, despite being praised by the royalty and ministers, didnft hog the limelight even once. He was a silent worker!
Okay, now letfs get into what really worked and what couldfve been better! Sanjay Guptafs press meet was an eye-opener. Gupta keeps surprising you every time you meet him. At I.I.F.A., Dubai this year, Gupta announced a series of films and at G.I.F.A., six months later, he announced that hefd be releasing three films, one after the other, in the first half of 2007.
The BAABUL premiere was one of the finest [and extravagant] events I have attended in my career as a film journo. The venue was packed with fans and yet, the stars were escorted to their seats without any unruly behavior. The cheering crowd went berserk at the sight of Salman, John and Bipasha, but not one person misbehaved. And the arrangements were truly fantastic!
The other major event -- the awards ceremony -- was equally impressive. I feel, the script of the hosts [Arbaaz Khan, Rohit Roy, Minissha Lamba, Ria Sen] couldfve been better and wittier, but the event that started at 9 p.m. and ended at 3 a.m. was truly electrifying. If Shah Rukh had the crowd eating out of his hands, Salman was rocking as well. Abhishek too proved that hefs a sure-fire hit on stage. Katrina was a pleasant surprise, Priyankafs act was tame, while Amisha didnft appeal since she didnft have fresh tracks to support her.
If asked to give G.I.F.A. 2006 a rating on a scale of five, Ifd give it four stars for the simple reason that G.I.F.A. delivered what it promised -- loads of entertainment! _________________

Well, it's a landmark deal, and it's the movie I wanna see next:
By IndiaFM News Bureau, December 18, 2006 - 05:52 IST
Roger Nair Productions has acquired Canadian rights to writer/director Mani Ratnam's Guru. Guru is rumored to be based on the life of Reliance corporation founder and the richest man of India, Late Dhiru Bhai Ambani's Life. Roger Nair Productions spokesperson Mr. Nair and Kaleidoscope Entertainment Mr. Bobby Bedi announced on Wednesday in a press conference, held at "The Host" that a Star studded World Premiere of Guru is to be held in Toronto on January 11th 2007.
This has been a landmark deal between Canada and India making Canada an official territory of Bollywood films. Historically Bollywood film industry has always looked upon North America as one unit and lobbying of Canadian company to be given Video and television rights have been futile, forcing them to get only exhibition rights that did not give them much right to go after video piracy. With a Canadian company acquiring absolute Theatrical, video and TV rights ensures every legal right to curb piracy with the help of police and the justice system.
Mr. Bedi was shown the world class Toronto venues fit to host a premiere of this magnitude by OMDC officials followed by a City of Toronto hosted luncheon in celebration of signing of a pioneer deal signed between the two companies. Mr. Bedi also chairs CII (Chamber of Indian industries), FFI (film finance of India) and is on the committee of India's International film festival held in Goa each year.
Roger Nair productions will hold a world premiere in Toronto with most of the cast and crew attending on January 11th 2007 including Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek bachchan, AR Rahman and Mani Ratnam The film opens in theaters Canadawide Cineplex, AMC and Empire January 12th, 2007 _________________
Shilpa Shetty to get Rs 3 crores for 25 days
By Subhash K. Jha, December 26, 2006 - 08:22 IST
At the end of the month Shilpa Shetty leaves for an undisclosed part of UK to be part of the biggest reality show Big Brother UK. Though the actress has been forbidden from talking about it, it's most reliably learnt that Shilpa has been paid the equivalent of a whopping Rs 3 crores to be the only Bollywood participant on the show. Shilpa joins Big Brother from Jan 1 and spends the next 25 days on the show.
Says the source, "When Shilpa was approached she was taken completely by surprise. She had made no overtures to Endemol (the company that produces Big Brother internationally) to let them know she was interested in their show at all. But Big Brother made inquiries. They wanted their first Bollywood entry into the show and they needed someone with a smart, sexy look and attitude, someone who could converse fluently in English. Asians make up about 80 percent of viewers on the show."
Shilpa who had other plans for Christmas and the New Years has quickly cancelled them all to accommodate the month-long stint away from home.
Says a very close friend of the actress, "Shilpa is basically a home bird and she's dreading this long stay with strangers. But she's also excited because it's a huge honour to be on Big Brotherc Not like its Indian counterpart Bigg Boss where any and every wannabe was a contestant. Big Brother UK has the biggest celebrities in the world."
Before signing the super-lucrative contract Shilpa found out how voyeuristic the show is expected to be. There will be no cameras in the bathroom and the celebrities on the show won't be required to act sleazy at all. _________________

I read somewhere that in the Kansai region there is a considerable "South Asian" (Indian) presence- where they operate small businesses- meaning Bollywood movies are proabably available. Plus there's also the internet for downloading them and YOUTUBE! I watched up to part 18 of Dhoom 2- still have to watch the ending (sigh) _________________

MUMBAI (AFP) - A court in central India has heard statements from a lawyer complaining that an on-screen kiss by Bollywood belle Aishwarya Rai and co-star Hrithik Roshan contravened the country's strict laws against obscenity.
The court in the city of Indore recorded statements from a local lawyer, Shailendra Dwivedi, who filed the complaint over last year's biggest Bollywood grossing film, "Dhoom 2" (Have a Blast 2).
The case is set to be heard on January 25.
"I have already submitted details of the film, the controversial scene, alongside newspaper write-ups and photographs," Dwivedi, a self-confessed moral conduct crusader, told AFP Friday.
"My conscience made me file this case. The movie cannot be watched by Indian families as it depicts vulgarity," he said.
Good thing this guy's never seen anything from Vivid Video

I don't get it. So what about all those Bollywood films with the sex scenes? Is it just because Rai and Roshan are famous? Or because Rai is coming in numerous Hollywood films? I sense a scandal. _________________
