Because students ALWAYS end up finding me. Even when I have a complete random name (which I feel defeats the purpose of the site in the first place). It's dangerous to have an online identity in my profession.
It's the same reason why I don't use msn. I mean, my ID is [email protected], and STILL kids found me.

Facebook sets you up for problems. Exactly why I steer clear.
My friends have lots of pics of me there already. I dont need them all linked to me.

Totally understandable. That's one thing that really sucks about being a teacher. How the heck do they find you even if you use a random name though? That's scary stuff.

My ex-boss found me. And I HAD to accept, because not accepting would mean something.  So, I'm keeping the crazy updates on the DL.

Yea, and that's another thing. Employers use it to do background checks on applicants. Although I already have a job, the last thing I need is the principal checking out my facebook.
I had it for a good year, but then I felt too nervous about it. Even high privacy settings didn't do much.
