IMO...no. They used up all the clever plots from the manga in the 1st season and had to come up with basically all original material for the SP and the 2nd season. I initially gave up after 3 episodes, but there were so few interesting dramas last season that I ended up watching the remaining ones (except for the finale at which point I could care less).

And some are downright awful (to the unitiated: Gokusen 2).

I'm praying to high heaven that the Nodame Special is at least good if not great... Seeing that it's a continuation of the story, it's got a fighting chance... Big Grin

The Kuitan special was REALLY bad, but moreso because it's being compared to the first season. I didn't mind it too much, tho the entire supporting cast was useless, which peeved me a bit.
