i have about 100 vhs tapes sitting around, a bunch of cdrs, and avi files (divx/xvid) on dvd-r. 1 dvd-r holds roughly 1 complete jdorama, 2-5 dvd-rs roughly holds 1 complete k drama. if i were to convert let's say 1 jdorama, it would take up 3-4 dvd-rs.
my dilemma is... divx/xvid ->mpeg 2 = more dvd-rs Shameful Cry
but my problem is fixed now, since i just stream the files on my computer to the TV (i have twice the virtual desktop space now, since my video card is dual head).

Yeowch, I guess in your case you'll have to wait for the Blu-Ray discs to come out (25-50GB per disc)... Big Grin

HAHAHA, no idea. Haven't dealt with them yet but I've purchased 500 packs 3 times before. I guess supermedia store is just happy to make a sale. Although buying from them sucks for us cause we get charged tax Bang Head

Yeah, that bites. But at those quantities, you're still saving some bucks, huh?

Hahaha, yea with all those empty spindels. I have like 20 of them stored in a cabinet. I usually store my DVDs in thin cases so leftover spindels just take up space. I need to like find a site that has some creative ideas on what to do with them, lol

Hmmm, thinking quickly. How about making toy carousels and giving them as gifts. Heck, by using the spindels, you're halfway there! hehe

Found another firmware update for the Philips DVP-642 dvd player. This finally corrected the size and outline of subtitle fonts the first firmware screwed up.

Now if only this player could also play OGM files.

Is this newer than the 1109 firmware? If so, where would I find it?
