of the few doramas ive seen her in, that's pretty much what her characters are like.
Haha. Yeah that's true.
So far Koizumi Kotaro has been pretty underutilised although his name appears before Oizumi Yo in the credits. Oizumi Yo has gotten the meatier role, it would seem. Most times, Koizumi Kotaro just has to stand by the sidelines looking alternately helpless and hapless or say "Omae-san"

20.7% for ep6. Not bad at all. They cleverly incorporated Valentine's Day and chocolates into the storyline.
The drama portrayal has been exaggerated in some scenes in each episode and it seems that this is because the scriptwriters want to give Haruko a super hero feel.
this is the best drama of the season for me! aside from the superb acting of cast, especially Shinohara and Ooizumi, im attracted to the script. even though Omae is a super haken, the scenario is very realistic, especially the discrimination suffered by Kato Ai's character in episode 2.

Yep. The bias faced by hakens has been very well reflected in all the episodes. And even a super haken like Haruko is keenly aware of the boundaries that she can and cannot overstep. Shoji (and most of the rest of the supporting cast in the sales department) characterises the typical seishain who's quick to lay blame or belittle haken and equally quick to claim credit though it might not be his due. Kensuke, on the other hand is the ideal, but because his behaviour runs contrary to what's acceptable to the company he sticks out like a sore thumb and this could imperil his career advancement.
This series is by far and away the best drama of this season. It has an amazing cast and a great script, which is rare to find in a combo. The only thing that irks me is that it ends at 10 episodes. I've watched up to episode 9 and I have no idea how they'll be able to wrap up everything and create a overall satisfying ending. I've loved all the episodes up to episode 9, so I'd be disappointed if they did a cop-out and left the series off with a "cliffhanger" for an end or a non-end.

I haven't watched ep9 yet but I am surprised that they've chosen to end it at 10 episodes. I was expecting 12 even though the Japanese wikipedia site stated 10 because there seemed to be so many more loose ends to tie up. I don't want it to finish its run so quickly but still, like you said, I'd like a quality ending and not something open-ended, to be followed up with a sequel.

It's a very nice drama but I think 10 episodes is about right. The theme here is haken vs. kaishain and there is only so many points you can make without being overly repetitive. As far as I am concerned the only loose end I want tied up are Omae and Shouji's romantic development.

Translated from Yahoo Entertainment News:
Haken no Hinkakufs last episode hits 26%!
The last episode of Haken no Hinkaku, which aired last night, drew a viewership rating of 26.0% (Kanto). This rating ranks second behind the first episode of the cool drama Karei-naru Ichizoku.
Haken no Hinkakufs subject has attracted broad popularity through word of mouth. The drama experienced a slow rise from an initial viewership rating of 18.2% for its first episode but its final episode posted a large rise of 7.8 points.
Such a dramatic increase between the first episode and the last episode can also be traced back to other dramas like 2005fs Ichi Littoru no Namida (13.5% --> 20.5%: 7.0 points up) and Densha Otoko (18.3% --> 25.5%: 7.2 points up).
In addition, Haken no Hinkakufs achievement has drawn peoplefs attention to the fact that this is the second NTV drama to score such an impressive performance. In 2005, Joou no Kyoshitsu enjoyed a steep increase from 14.4% in the first episode to 25.5% in the last episode.
Over this weekend, the last episodes of the popular dramas, Karei-naru Ichizoku and Hana Yori Dango II will air, and their developments will be greatly anticipated.
