I don't know why Weller is having it so bad... Maybe because it's off the beaten path or something... Sad. Sad

Love Collage's director was inspired by similar scenes in IWGP, he was one of the three directors in this dorama.

Don't think I have the guts to try... I prefer cold ramen, I just fixed myself one! Chatter

Ramen, mmmm. I can vouch for Gomaichi, although I haven't been there in ages. Used to go all the time right after they opened because of Angel, asian godess who lived up to her name. Our usual Thurs nite hangout Mr. Ojisan serves a decent ramen, along with other goodies. Nakamuras is pretty good. I've dreamt about talking to them about opening a franchise in Whistler Canada. The place there I went there was not good at all. A good ramen stand out in the snow would be the best!
We found ramen alley in Sapporo, that was way cool! Butter ramen good! They put a big pat of butter in ramen along w/everything else!
I believe saimin is a Hawaii creation, kind of like pidgin ramen. I think the plantation workers who came here made it as an approximation using what they had. Fish based broth I think, mostly salty.
I'm curious about the new place I heard supposed to be open soon (if not already) run by same people who do Jimbo's Udon. Like the udon, they're supposed to make their own fresh noodles from scratch.

I don't think FoodTV did... However, KIKU-TV did in 2003 and 2004, airing the TBS special Sushi! Donburi! Ramen!

I uploaded the 2003 and 2004 editions on d-addicts awhile back, but it's long gone. Sometimes you'll find these specials on the newsgroups.

Oh, MAN, groink, thanks for mentioning the only of one of two shows (the other being Iron Chef -- the ORIGINAL one, mind you) that can make me hungry even when I'm full. Taaaaaaaaarrific!

Hey, groink, we have GOT to get the Oahu crew together for a cookout or something, no? Niko2x, FierceStriker, Eltinator, others, comin' on down? Hahhaa. Hey, but, yeah, groink, I'll be joining you (and Yariman) and "the others" for eats someday (yeah, Sab' tol' me about 'em, hahaha)!

I add all kinds of stuff to instant ramen. With the chicken kind I add cheese at the bottom. I also like to put shrimp in some and random vegitables. We have a place here in Vegas called Tea Zone and they serve ramen with egg in it. It's pretty good. I luv ramen

Ah, with cheese, I have yet to try, but, I've had egg w/ramen. Here in Hawai'i we like (now, don't hate, please Bleah ) SPAM (that ham SPAM, not online SPAM) in our ramen . . . with seaweed, black pepper, fishcake, oh, man, getting hungry now.

Also, try some tobasco and/or wasabi in ya'll's ramen.

Some folks -- I should say, a LOT of folks -- like to eat a hamburger or hot dog 'long w/their ramen. Uh . . . one at a time for The Man, please Big Grin .
