I think that the official announcement will be made on Thursday? I find it sad when any team leaves. I will always remember the team as for example the Winnepeg Jets. But the Expos demise has been talk about so long that I am kind of glad that it is over. The baseball strike really hurt baseball in Canada, I expect it to be the same in hockey with USA.

People in Toronto feel that they are the center of the world. So there baseball and basketball teams are really their teams and not a Canadian team. So to me Canada will be losing their baseball team.

I agree with Koolaid. It is sad when a team leaves. (Well except for the city that lands the team). From what I understand though it's not a done deal. They have not worked out some serious funding issues. The offer is supposed to be based on the city paying for everything new stadium etc. Crazy

I remember a few years ago they tried to get rid of the A's they talked about getting rid of the team all together not even moving it. I was so mad. A team that has been around almost since the beginning and they actually talked about getting rid of it while keeping the expansion teams. Mad Angry

Well that's my rant on that. Grumble

too late. it's already here in dc. altho no matter where it would have went, if the expos don't put out a quality product in about 3 or 4 yrs, i thinki the novelty of a new team will be finished and no one would care about them. just MHO.

I already mentioned that in the previous page... Smile

I guess he'll have an asterisk next to his name if he breaks the record, since Sisler played only 154 games, as opposed to the present 162... Sweat

Good point. How many did Ichiro have at 154 games?

By the same token, how many did Bonds and McGwire and Sosa have at whatever was the number of games that Maris and Ruth hit their home run records?

I don't think that will happen. The pitchers and science of it all, scouting and so on, maybe there should be an asterisk saying how it is so much more difficult nowadays to hit that well.
