Well, the JPEG flaw is now ALIVE and KICKING...

http://news.com.com/Trojan+horse+exploits+image+flaw/2100-7355_3-5385995.html

On the Usenet newsgroups, an ISP already found two images that contain the compromising code. So for those of you who like collecting images from that source and use specific Microsoft products, make sure you have the patches installed.

From what I'm reading into this stuff, they're not categorizing the code as a virus. Therefore, I would not rely on your anti-virus scanning software to protect your PC from this.

thx redrum. now if i can only get firefox to connect at home just like at work, i'd be one happy firefox. maybe you can shed some lite on this: here is the screenshot from at work, which i am able to connect:

and here is one from home, which does not connect (so i have to rely on sorry old IE)

What can i do to have a connection at home? or is there more info that i need to post for you to answer? even if you don't have an answer, thx for helping me with purging of temp internet files!

Well, Internet Explorer is just one application that's vulnerable. You should read the Microsoft tech document and read up on the other apps that are affected. There are several dozen applications that are affected, but just about all of them are made by Microsoft. The URLs on the previous posts should point you in the right direction.

I'm no expert niko2x. But if you haven't already, try the auto-detect option. And do you use a router at home?

havent really used any browser aside from IE. Except for the tab-browsing capability, there's really not much I can think of that would make me want to switch...

anyway, ulead just released photoimpact 10, the big change was on path objects allowing edit of multiple points; atleast thats what i read. havent tried the trial version yet.

Presently, 2.4x speed DVD burners take about 46 minutes. Grumble

Nope, not yet. Dual Layer burners just hit 4x speed recently.

Yea it was the 4x that came out a few months ago. I'm still using a 8x single layer burner but what I really want to see is a 8x SATA DVD burner. Now that'd kick ass hehe
