So you're an asianphile who believe he was born into the wrong body?
Yeah... I was confused by your earlier statement Greg... you wrote that you were Asian and didn't you write that you also married a Chinese girl (that speaks Canto)?
Some folks believe that the stork makes mistakes every once in a while and misdelivers babies. And I wouldn't call it that the person in question is a *insert-ethnic-interest-type-here*-phile. It's more like the person has a fundamentally different psychological makeup that is more similar to the ethnic group that they are intersted in, instead of the ethnic group to which they are genetically related.

thus, said person is enamored with "asian things" for the fact that they're asian... rather than being simply "asiancentric" and believing that there are great things within asian-cultures that you value.
It isn't a "cultural issue" per se, because there is, in reality, no such thing as "asian culture". _________________

Are you and Asian? If so...are you "passionately obsessed"? Is that what defines you to be asian?
I am only part Asian... and undeniably "japancentric".
But I do not believe to be "asian confused" as I do not put value on continental significance as a whole... only elements within various cultures (many of which happen to be asian) that I believe to be dear to me.

I will guess MOST people were NOT confused...and the "though" was more a contrast of White to Chinese (NOT Asian to Japanese).
I said I was BORN to white parents...how LESS confusing could I be?
I needed that third post in order to confirm the truth (as it's clear now) because the first two statements cancelled each other out.
So we're done with that. _________________

OK.. Japancentric or Asiancentric will do. Though my point is I'm semi-Japancentric, semi-chinese(HK)centric...

This thread is uh....something else Why Japanese though? I think when looking hard for something specific like that, you may not find exactly what you'd hope for
I say a lot that I want some Asian guy(s) for the time being (b/c I never had one ) but heh, I highly doubt I'd turn down a nice hottie who isn't Asian though.

I'm "-centric" to countries that have beautiful women (and have brains and personality to match) and don't smell.
I'm married but there was a time where I was on a search in different countries for women resembling Sammi Cheng, Faye Wong, women with similar eyes and beauty of Maggie Cheung and Bada, Hyori and for Japanese women... I digged Ako of My Little Lover and Moritaka Chisato (when she had the long black hair). But it's not limited to Asian women. I was always on the lookout for a Claudia Schiffer, Karen Mulder, Tatiana Patitz, Nicole Kidman.... I just love beautiful women.
