Darn, been gone for a day and a half and this thread blew up to 10 pages!!!!
Anyhoos, it's prolly too late to slow this beast down, but here are the other food threads it should have been posted on (IMHO).

Do you guys like the Cheesecake Factory? I always wanted to try, but there's always a 40+ minutes wait when I go..but I'm going FRIDAY in Frisco, have reservation now..whats good to order?
The Cheesecake Factory in SF, overlooking Union Square, is fun... but I didn't think they took reservations except for large parties.
They have a HUGE menu. Their food is fine, nothing extraordinary, except for the cheesecake... so save room for dessert!
Bon appetit,

Yes, It's a beautiful location. I agree about the food it's standard truly the cheesecake sets it apart. _________________

Eh? No love for the Jambalaya? Pork chops?
I've been to New Orleans and had a lot of jambalaya... so have high expecatations. Plus, I make my own home-made jambalaya.
If you're up in the SF Bay, hit NOLA in Palo Alto:
http://www.nolas.com/ NOLA's jambalaya is BETTER than the jambalaya in New Orleans! Plus it's a FUN joint.
As to the Cheesecake Factory, I like their food and I've never had a bad meal there. Garlic mashed potatoes and a good pork chops, I'll take second and thirds! Just stating that while I like their food, their entrees are nice, but not extraordinary; it's their dessert that sets them apart... and their HUGE menu, which is cool. Good ambience too, except for the noise.
Damn, it's only 10:41, this thread is making me hungry!

We had a place down here called Orleans that was really good, but they shut their doors... Sad.

Yeah, it's a bit raucus inside, but no more than a Chinese restaurant.

One thing I didn't understand in New Orleans... I had jambalaya from at least six different places and none of them were that good... it's as if the restaurants don't take jambalaya seriously. Akin to the way Chinese restaurants don't really take chow mein seriously I guess. But I had lots of other outstanding cajun and creole dishes in the French Quarter.
Not to mention getting hammered every night!
Perhaps the best pork chops and garlic mashed potatoes I've had recently were in Placerville at Cafe Luna. It's a nice place, overlooking the river on old historic Main Street. Went there in February on a fluke, on the way home from a snowboarding trip to Sierra-at-Tahoe. Wow, talk about serendipity.

Had dinner with some friends a while back and the pork chops and garlic spuds at Lucille's wasn't too bad... It's sorta hard to find a decent non-chain restaurant nowadays...

Cheesecake? My house. Once I could no longer go to Junior's I spent years trying to recreate Junior's Cheesecake.
Poisoned half my friends and family in the process.
Then two years ago Junior's puts out a cook book with the reciepe in it. GA!!!
Fav "cuisine"? Italian.
I absolutely love McDonald's, Taco Bell, Togo's, Nation's, etc. (BK's is too sweet)--- but never twice in a row. If yesterday's lunch came from McD's, today's has to come from somewhere else. (That's my version of being sensible and balanced.)
