Everything is always different between Osaka (and Kyoto) and Tokyo.

I always forget which side of the escalator you stand on. I think it's the left in Tokyo and the right for Osaka and Kyoto (or is it vice-versa). A japanese friend told us why the difference. People wore their money bags (now wallets) on one side so to protect it they stood with the money bag on the inside.

For warriors, their samurai swords stuck out. They stood with the sword on the inside so they don't stab someone. Apparently the money bag and swords sides were different. Because Osaka is more of a money/financial city and Tokyo was more a warrior city they stood on different sides.

At least that's what my friend told me.

Yes, Tokyo is on the left and Osaka is on the left. Sorry, but I do not know the origin of why they do such.

But I had no idea about the sword things.

My knowledge is basically more on the language difference aspect between the two.

Thanks for the info.

okay guys, quick translation question for my jpn homework.
uU𔃂̂AƂUjȂ̂vɂ‚ĂȂ͂ǂv܂B
it's not the ending of the sentence that's giving me problems. it's the part in quotes. if any of the more experienced people could lend a hand, it'd be much appreciated!

Gramatically, there doesn't seem to be a problem, but what exactly are you trying to say?
Currently you've got something like, "Whose wrong, the one who bought the fake or the one that couldn't spot the fake?" (just the stuff in the brackets).
