From Ai-Eye Magazine, November 2004... Actress Tanaka Rena, 24, is set to star in a Chinese TV drama Utsukushii Kao, with all Chinese actors. Rena will be required to speak the Peking dialect, which she says is going to be a real challenge for her. She's been in China the past two months filming the drama. --- groink

what's with these talented cute J-idols speaking other languages in chinese/korean/ etc... dramas. Kyoko Fukada spoke a little Korean in the japanese/korean drama "Friends" in 2002, and now Rena is speaking chinese. Hopefully it will come out in vcd/dvd for us to watch in english subtitles. thanks for the new Rena info, maybe the thread will come alive again.
