Regardless of J-Lo's bootage, she's right up there with Julia Roberts as far as "actresses I don't like" goes....

BTW, has anyone seen "Kikujiro no Natsu" with Kitano Takehashi? That is a really strange, screwed up movie.... | The most uncommon Kitano movie. Screwed up? You mean the-homeless-dude-attempted-taking-off-the-boys-pants?
What can I say, hmm. I really have no answers to it, Kitano just put that scene in the movie. Not really serious though (the scene). Actually the issue is sensitive in the Western countries.
There are even worse screwed up movies around. There are plenty of funny and fantasy-like scenes in the movie and gotta love Kitano's silly jokes. Kitano knows how to make moving scenes and capture the audience's feeling.
Again the music by Joe Hisaishi is excellent!

Yes.
I can safely say that my home is Julia AND J-Lo free. And I plan to keep it that way.

After all the talk about Shall We Dance on this thread, I put it on my Netflix list (my VHS copy has long since disappeared) and watched it last night.
Man, it just gets better each time I watch it. _________________ Manga is to Literature

Just 'cause there's no body count or CGI doesn't mean a movie isn't spectacular...

I'm not a big fan of ramen and noodles... in fact, the stuff they were putting in the ramen in " Tampopo" pretty much freaked me out.
But I was, and am, wild about every frame in that movie.
I think Juzo Itami was as close to being a genius as a commercial film maker gets.
The Funeral
Tampopo
Taxing Woman

I don't know whether I should put this here, or over on the "Yoshitsune" thread, but...
I just watched a movie from 1982 titled "The Fall Guy"
It's a wonderful behind-the-scenes story about a bit player in Samurai movies set at the Toei studios in Kyoto.
Funny movie. Worth watching if you're a fan of the genre.
But what really struck me is that in 1982, Keiko Matsuzaka was a freakin' goddess.
You can see her now playing Kiyomori's wife in Yoshitsune, and it's clear that she's still a good looking older lady.
As she was the good looking older lady in "Proof of the Man", and in the movie, "The Happiness of the Katakuris".
But in 1982... she was spectacular. _________________ Manga is to Literature
