Well, Singapore is known for having good fruit drinks... here in the SF Bay, a typical decent boba drink costs nearly $3 USD, for only 12oz to 16oz. Plus, people in Singapore commonly speak English, so it's easier to get around than Tokyo or Hong Kong. Plus, some of my close friend's family, that I've known forever, are from Singapore too. I could ask them for good places to visit.

Sir Stanford Raffles is the founder of Singapore in the 1819... thus, Raffles Hotel is also build by him... so at the bar of the hotel, they come out with this drink juz not long ago to memorial him... tadah Dancing ..!! this is how Singapore Sling comes about...!! My exGF visited Singapore in Nov 2003. She picked me up a coffee mug that says:

Singapore is a Fine Place

It lists the cost of various fines, like for chewing gum, etc. hehe

I'm seriously thinking of visiting Asia this summer. I want to visit my cousin in Tokyo. What would be ideal is if Cathay Paciific has one of those Asia hopper deals, where you can fly to a bunch of countries in Asia and back to the USA for like USA$800 round trip.

That way I could swing by Singapore and do tequila shots with Genma! Drunk hehe

If I do visit, I'll let you and Genma know. Heck, I could always use a tour guide to show me around.

From what I understand, lots of signs are in English, which would help, since my Cantonese is pretty weak and my Mandarin non-existant. Beaten Doh!

I didn't visit, I wrote that my ex-girlfriend visited in November 2003. Not sure where she went. Head Scratch

Ideal vacation would be to fly to HK, have some dim sum and shop in Kowloon. Hop over to Singapore, spend a day sightseeing and get Genma hammered. Drunk The fly over to Tokyo and stay at my cousin's apartment for like 5 days and check out Tokyo and Mt. Fuji. He's got a really nice apartment, apparently Fujiwara Norika works occasionally works out at his gym.
