C'mon people. Your messages will come out better if you refrain from filling your post with anger. Like I said before, I'd hate to see a good topic go down in flames.

I think all the hate-filled posts need to be deleted from this thread. There are some good points brought up, but I hate having to dig through all the dirt to find them.

Hhaha. Fire dance. I love it!

Regarding the current situation, Japans not even offering some kind of whats with these peace protestors are harming Japanese who had NOTHING TO DO with our Imperial ways, something like that?

The best thing Japan CAN do is give an apology THIS year (it IS at a point where we can nostalgically moniker World War II as a 60th anniversary, yes?) THEN we can see who is satisfied with the apology and who isnt (the onus then falling onto the latter; think about it if Japan finally apologizes for their war atrocities, thats big damn news and disarms the vitriolics).

I dunno, man . . . I have friends from Japan and, when I told them my position on the whole thing, you know what they did? THEY APOLOGIZED (RIMSHOT!!!!!!!!!!). In all seriousness, though, we continued this discussion inevitably ending up on comparing/contrasting/criticizing each others nations and the thing that ended the whole thing finally ending up leaving my home to grab a bite to eat, mind you was done by me (I was outnumbed 5 to 1, by the way) was something long the lines of, do you realize that one of Japans flagship ideals the act of apology slowly becomes eroded as long as they refrain from apologizing merely not for one of THE most atrocious acts in ANY war, but, rather, apologizing for a situation that makes them most uncomfortable to do so? One situation that truly tests this cherished ideal? And maybe its not only that, but, rather, their ignoring of it when the rest of the planet can see it clearly. Maybe this is why yalls have no hope of become more than a self-defense entity.

Actually, I couldnt get a read on em. But, they got my point.

They probably had a few of their own. But, by that time we were too hungry. So, we wen go eat.

Okay, I'm not psychologist and maybe I'm overanalyzing this, but it could be that Japan does not want to lose face against the rest of the world. They have no problems apologizing to their own people, but to do so to China would be outside their comfort zone...

Remember these are just my thoughts.

i dont know how u guys feel, but i think this thread shld end.

ok, if u guys wan to point finger at me sayin im the one hu started this thread, i remind u here it's not me. i only replied from prev posts in 'marriage' thread regarding china vs japan. and someone started this thread out of the 'marriage' to discuss further here.

i dun resent anyone here for doin anything. but one of my frenz in this forum has decided to left. i dunwish to mention name, but left means no more posting in this forum. i think some posts are really disappointing and 'insulting'. it s true tt someone shld do something abt it.

this topic is sensitive, regarding china & japan, since the government of both countries cant even peace down and shake-hand, so if we continue to voice ALL our opinions, this might lead to a 'forum war'. i might be exaggerating but i honestly feel that this thread shld juz end here.

im juz a ordinary J-lover who decided to register as user after many months in here viewing ard. i dunwish my pure intention to join ended up to leave with bad impression abt this forum.

once again, we r nobody to change wad happen to china and japan, and i think some of us had already voice our opinions. i myself have decided nt to continue discussing in this thread anymore. end.

atata, we are not trying to put blame towards anyone. Things got heated and some words should not have been said. Cooler heads should have prevailed. However I don't believe this thread should die unless it becomes counterproductive. To discuss is to gain knowledge. I have learned many things here in the last few days and I am thankful that people are stating their opinions. I hope your friend decides to reconsider their decision to leave. This place is a good place when people act rationally.

Everyone, please cool down and get your thoughts together. There is no need to name call. There will be disagreements and conflicts of opinions, however there is no reason why we can't have an intellegent discussion rather than a name calling flame war.

I do not want to have to resort to deleting posts or locking (or even deleting) this thread entirely. This is an interesting topic and does not deserve to go down in smoke.

Compliance is greatly appreciated.

It'll also add more to the fire and provoke the users involved even more.
