I've never read any of the graphic novels so I didn't know too much about this movie. When that evil yellow guy first appeared, I thought it was a Ferengi from Star Trek.
Wha?
Oh...the Yellow Bastard had side effects from his...um...reconstructive proceedures....
I wouldn't say his ears were giant...his nose was though. _________________

I just saw it yesterday. Yes, it was more violent than I had expected it to be, but I have to say it was nicely done. Thou I don't know if it was worth the 4.5 and 4 out of 5 that it is recieving in the reviews. lol, I covered my face in two parts, the part where kevin was being eatten by the dog, and the guy being put on the electric chair. One of the guy friends whom I went with ended up aughing at me through out the whole time. But yeah, I am amazed at how true to the original it was. Although, I have never read the comic, we were at BN afterwards and alot of the frames in the movie matched the comic.
Miho was very cool and yes, Jessica Aiba was hot and this is coming from a female's pov. so was Josh Hartnett of course.
I can't believe there's actually people camping at all. I'm not going to see it, and I used to be a huge Star Wars fan, but after seeing thet railer of Episode 3... oi... And yeah, I don't like Hayden and Portman, they both need a lot of acting lessons.

Don't know about Hayden, but I think Natalie's a pretty good actress...
Sadly, I'm a completist, so I have to see Episode 3 regardless...

Of course, I'll probably go see it the first weekend it's out...
well i won't trip on anybody....at least those ppl waiting in line also raise money for charity...which is pretty cool.
well if you buy your tickets at the arclight.....you get a reserved seat so you don't have to wait in line to get a seat because it's going to be assigned to you based on when you bought the ticket.

So long ago........
i have friends that haven't been to the arclight...it's where the old cineramadome used to be...in fact it's still there and functional except they added a megaplex of screens around it.....yeah it has increasingly become the place to premiere films, as opposed to theaters in westwood or the chinese mann on hollywood.

I'll probably see it opening weekend too. Since I don't hold many things sacred, including movies, I guess I was one of the few people who wasn't very pissed when Lucas screwed around with the Star Wars movies. _________________

Neither was I, really. Some people need to get a life.

I believe some Japanese video game makers tarnished the image of the Seven Samurai in a futuristic update to it. I didn't freak out though because it was funny as hell. _________________

I can't believe I didn't post in this back when I saw the movie! Anyway, I watched it soon after I returned from Japan, pretty much as soon as the DVD came out and everyone was raving about it. I rented it.........and wasted my damn money. I thought the movie was awful and mind-numbingly boring. It took me 4 times to get through to the end, the previous 3 times I fell asleep in under 40 minutes from boredom. The scene with Matthew's Best Hit TV was the only part that woke me up. I thought anything dealing with foreigners in Japan especially soon after I had the experience myself would be entertaining. I was wrong about this one, I hated this movie.
I'm not a fan of Bill Murray, but the casting really didn't have anything to do with why I hate this movie. I just thought it was incredibly boring. Sadly, it's not really often that I talk smack on a movie. I have 4 ratings for when I watch movies: 1: Awful, barely got through it, 2: Mreh, just okay, 3: Pretty good, would watch it again, and 4: I love this movie. Lost in Translation was one of very few movies that fall under rating 1 for me. No offense to people who liked it, but I absolutely loathe this movie and would never ever watch it again unless I was out of sleeping pills.
personally, i liked it. It was ok, not a fantastic movie, but ok. Bill Murray and Scarlett did a good job acting, the movie was slow. But it has JAPAN!, I love everything on Japan and that is all that mattered to me really. The scenery, the people, the city, and kyoto, were amazing, makes me want to go back there.
