It ain't that outdated, CB... Though your HD is sorta tiny by today's standards...

I think think he took it out and hit it with a hammer so he could get the 16X DL model...

When it comes to consumer electronnics, that's the norm: new today, cheaper and obsolete tomorrow.

Truthfully, I probably would have put together another system last year, but instead poured money into my now exGF's snowboarding equipment and building her a PC and our vacations to Vegas, San Diego, Cancun, and Whistler.

AHHH!!... now I why you havent updated... You need to those vacations out buddy... j/k! |
Have started on the new system. So far have ordered:
1. Seasonic 600W power supply
2. Lian-Li PC-52 minitower aluminum case
Got the Seasonic in the mail from NewEgg already. NewEgg rocks. Had to order the Lian-Li from a 2nd vendor, the 1st vendor I tried, pcToyland, took my money and didn't send the product. Had to yell at them repeatedly to get them to cancel the order and refund my credit card.

For some strange reason I only like to order from NewEgg. I dont really trust all those other "online stores." Always afraid of things like what happened to you...pay and recieve no product. I also dont complain about NewEgg cause they ship stuff so fast since they're in so cal. Good place to shop. |
Never had a problem with my orders from Directron either.
Couldn't order the case from NewEgg, they didn't carry it.

It doubles as a space heater, right? |
It's highly efficient too, 80% rating.
It throttles the power, BMW, which is to say, that 600W is the maximum sustained output. It doesn't actually draw 600W continually from the electric socket if you're not putting significant load on the PC.

That's pretty cool... Must be pricey.

Yep, but I'm building this PC for future upgradability, reliability, and quiet operation. This power supply is extemely quiet, reliable, and powerful enough to handle future upgrades.
