I am new here but have traded successfully with a few
Jenny (2X) --Very Nice!!
kpeebles (blanks & tradex1)-TOO nice!! Great communication.
Mask Maker (tradex1)--Very Nice! Sent his out days before I cound send mine!
ucbdoodle (2X) -Very Nice!
likwdasian (bought)
PC Modem(boughtx2) -Very Nice!! Always responsive
EVE (bought) -A fine experience, wonderful source to buy from!!!!
Bad experience:Not from this site, but I thought I'd warn others:
gingertoys2 (ebay ID) Although great selections, Video quality is very poor, could not even see Takuya's Scar in The Smile has left your eyes, plus loss of sound, , not in sync, bad grammer Sub all in one drama. Plus sometimes they put their ad right over the sub, made the sub unreadable....Ended up returning 4 ouf 5 dramas bought.

Believe me, people have problems with gingertoys period. And it goes beyond the poor quality of the dramas.

Ah, azn_anjo. I've seen that nick/person posting on many boards looking for trades and selling stuff with various nicks. I noticed on Koreanfilm she was selling as ceso6 too, which was also posted here:

Yeah, can't send to new people first because eventually you get burned after being lucky. They take advantage of your kindness eventually. If they have no references I know of, I don't ask to trade with them because I'd have to send first. If they ask me, they send first

Interesting. How all these things tie together.
I had Ceso6 make a request from me recently. Now Ceso06 has complaints about the series I sent, popular ones that work great usually. But I always offer full refund and shipping costs so Ive told her/him to return them.
Ceso asked me to send other series in exchange but I think Im just going to give a refund when/if the other series are returned. I dont need the headache. I do this so people get a chance to see some hard to find dramas.
BTW Kouseiya- I just got a heads up that Love and Peace 7-8 should arrive this week :>) will keep you posted. _________________

Yeah, that's better to refund it once they are returned, especially since this person may be shady. Then you can check to see if they really work. I've heard of people doing this to get more series, especially if they sell and don't have much to offer in trades. They just make a copy and send the other back with abrasions to make it look like it legitimately didn't work. If she doesn't agree, then the transaction is finalized and you don't lose out anyway.
Thanks for the heads-up on Love and Peace 7-8! Do you need me to send the bad one back?

I'm sorry for you winnie, I hope you get your stuff in the end. Unfortunately the puzzle pieces are falling into place and this person seems to be a bit shady. More than one nick on one board (Koreanfilm), sudden bursts of request posts, sales, several email addresses......seems to fit the bill of someone NOT to recommend anyway even if the stuff arrives late in the end. I hope this prompts them to settle all pending transactions to redeem him/herself.
| niko2x wrote: | | but, i think it goes without saying (for me anyways) if it's known people here on the board, i would have no problems sending it out first. |
That goes without saying for me too, but I wouldn't consider them newbies. I don't trade much anymore, but still, if I see someone's nick a lot and just didn't trade with them before, I'd be less reluctant and wouldn't be so insistant upon someone mailing first. When I was trading much more often, I definitely tried to be a little strict. If someone PM'ed me on here to trade and they had little or no posts, I'd turn them down and tell them that unless they had references of people I knew of, I'd have to decline. Nothing personal, but after over 4 years in this, I've been ripped by 3 different people. 2 of which came through in the end but left a scar on me from either lack of prompt replies (prompt to me is 1 week or less) or other problems. I'm much more lenient with errors nowadays with the DVD/CD trading era because it's much more common to get a dud, but it's also much easier to make quick replacements to make up for inconvenience. I've had error disks come in, and I've also sent a few. Over time I got more lenient on that kind of thing. As long as I get a replacement promptly. Or, if someone gets a bad one from me, as long as they give me a chance to make up for it, I'm cool.
I think I've done pretty well with my methods over the years I do miss trading and I'm falling behind, hopefully I can get back into it if I get a decent paying job, replace my $h!tty burner, and do a massive general archive check

Hi Winnie-
No worries. Im a gambler. Im so sorry that they ripped you.
Fortunately for us drama lovers there are very few rotten apples in our barrel.

Very funny, Kouseiya.
Now if you say you have a bad disc I believe.
(especially afer I double checked the original.)
Save your $$ for a new burner!! And start trading again. _________________

LOL, I had to at least offer And how bad would I be if I tried to rip you for one disk??
I'll save money once I get a decent job, if that ever happens I think by the time I get back into it, everyone will have everything I have and then some. Um, they probably do already. That's one thing I hate about P2P downloading

Thank you KouSeiya315 for your sympathy. I don't think this one will turn up though. He/she hasn't replied since the last 20th emails. I know better now and will limit my trades to those w/ references. I didn't hesitate when "suny" first pmed me stating that he/she has the two series I wanted...what a lesson to learn. |
Ok guys. Here is the latest update on the bad trader on Badger Lane, in Madison Wisconsin. I received back the supposedly bad Meteor Garden discs back for refund. Remarkably they all work perfectly on all of my players and computer. I emailed [email protected]/ not ceso6, to say nothing more will be shipped to that address until the trade was fulfilled.
Here is the email I received in return:
"Hey thea. this is her sister, cicilia, who sent yuor dvds back to you. if you arent going to sent me the items why didnt you write to me? if that is the case then, i would like my money back. this thing, papa movie, is between my sister and you, so why are you holding my items back? answer to me at [email protected]
okies.""
I have since written back that I would love to refund her money. As soon as that trade is fulfilled! Personally I dont believe for a moment that there is more than one person. Maybe if she sends me a picture and copy of their birth certificates. I think its funny her sister calls herself Suny though too.
Will keep you all posted. _________________

Yep, that's what I mentioned above. A lot of people take advantage of this kind of leniency and kindness. ceso6/suny/anjo is shady and I don't believe they are separate people for a split second. Unfortunately Eve, I know you are really nice and lenient about this, but I think you might want to consider tweaking your policy. Offer replacements of the same series only instead of refunds, upon return of disks. Even so, that is totally fair because that's what was requested in the first place. If it is a legitimate error and replacements must be made, reimburse the second shipping fee or add a couple disks of something else for the trouble (like, a movie or two).
If there's something wrong with disks sent, why ask for another series or a refund? That gives people the chance to copy before sending back. And, receiving the disks back in verified working condition (on several machines) proves fishy and that it might have happened. People will always try to get freebies and find loopholes.

That is incredibly shady. Like you, as I stated above, I DOUBT they are separate people. Do you remember if you addressed it to Cicilia or May, or just a nick?
Same address means they are related in some form (relatives or roommates), so one can push the other. This is not a business, this is a favor, so you don't run credit checks, so I feel you are within your rights to withhold due to lack of proven credibility. If they really are two sisters, then have the other persuade her sister to not rip people off. This is the internet. Trading by mail via internet communication has us associate common nicks and addresses because we cannot prove otherwise. So we think "same address, same household, probably the same person" especially with shady behavior like this.
I'm gonna PM you rather than discuss this further in this thread.
