As for the question... Honestly, I do find the "european" type of women sorta boring. I mean, I've been growing up with it, the typical blonde and blue-eyed chick. And after a while it gets boring, it's like eating the same food for years, day by day.
I'm not saying that there aren't attractice examples of that specimen, but well... attractive or not, it remains boring after a while.
I consider a different culture more interesting, same goes for different race. A different culture gives me something new to learn. A different race, well... I just need to take Naoko, or our best friend Yuki, or Hikaru, another friend of mine by now, or just her younger sister or her sister's classmates, or her mother... well... sorry... but I do find them a lot more interesting than anything else.
To conclude... I don't think I'm ever going to date a woman from my own race or ethnical background again. I know, the race shouldn't really matter in the end, but well, I think I'm biased.

Heh - life sucks, don't it?
Seriously though, I grew up the only member of my ethnic group in my area, so every single girl I've ever dated has belonged to another ethnicity. For the most part, the only times I've even met girls from my own group were when my parents were trying to set me up with one of their friends' kids, and I refuse to date them for obvious reasons.
As for asian men in the U.S., I think dating is just difficult for everybody. It's just when you hit those down times that everybody has it's easy to blame it on other people's racial prejudice. I've seen plenty of white guys who couldn't get a date to save their lives, as well as my fair share of asian man/white woman couples. Then again, maybe it's just that I don't know enough asians to get a good sample. Whatever the case, my heart goes out to you, dude.

I guess you should move to ny.
i see asian guys with women of different races kinda alot more these days.
i like all kinds of guys, honestly race is to me like "whatever"
i will admit that i love asian guys and i feel very very wierd, about this.
none of my friends like them! and they think its wierd, n they are problee right (sayings how im a very wierd girl )
asian guys date white girls alot, but not really black or hispanic, bcs i think they are scared of us er something..every asian guy i showed interest in seemed kinda surprised,.... but .....id be surprised too..see...i kinda dress like a thug,..wait and it looks very strange, when we chill.
anyway....the moral of the story is....always wear clean underwear, outside..just in case you get into an accident er something.
wait..no..oh yeah! i do date inside and outside of my race bcs i love cool guys, n lucky for me, they come in every color!

I've noticed this, and I think it's wrong. Amittedly, most of my Asian friends are women, but I do have some friends who are men. The main thing seems to be that a lot of women have the stereotype that Asian-American men are controlling, sexist, and have terrible mother-in-laws. There are Asian-American men like that, but it's not really different than some white or black sexist. Men from Asia might be a different story, but I don't know many to draw a conclusion. It's about perception...I just hope stereotypes like that fall. _________________

On the general topic, I would date or marry outside of my race but I don't knock my own because it doesn't even matter what race whoever is and it's not something you should have to predict, IMHO. I have also dated outside of my race as well as in but not for any particular reason.
Yeah, we did have another thread on this so I'm probably gonna be repeating myself. Sure, I have no issue with dating Asian guys, but they don't hit on me here. I get hit on by people other races, not even all that often by my own (not so much anymore). I see Asian chicks with white and Asian guys all the time. Not once *here* have I seen an Asian guy with a non-Asian girl. Not counting old people though, sometimes I've seen some old couples which was kinda interesting anyway
I think every hapa I have known had the Asian parent as the mother too My friends don't find Asian guys the least bit attractive. They don't understand cultural aspects if they come up, and they think all Asian men are short, skinny, frail, and not hot. Add some more stereotypes and you got it And of course all of them are "Chinese" except for ones that they know. Although one of my friends saw one of my magazines and she has a fascination with mullets. So she saw, I think it was Yamapi with one an Asian femme-mullet. She said he was pretty, but I'm sure she didn't mean it the same way I would

I think handsome men are handsome men.
Race has always been irrelevant.
Growing up in NYC Ive seen every type couple imaginable. And a good Asian male friend has a lovely blonde wife.
If theyre happy they all look good!

BTW my husband had a japanese girlfriend before me. Guess she liked his tall blonde looks too!! _________________

cmon how could you say u dont wanna date a blonde ever again?
thas so messed up, your soul mate could look like every other woman you have ever seen, but your just interested on whats on tha outside. you would problee look right over her personality,.
you act like it doesnt matter whether er not she is cool, er smart er nice.
your main thing is "she doesnt look like tha other women i have dated"
with that attitude your gonna miss out man,
you should never say stuff like that.

Alright... Rule one before making an alasysis: gather all facts.
Well, for once, actually you're somewhat wrong. How can I say I don't want to date a blonde ever again? It's easy, I just don't find them interesting. And most blondes I know are sluts, a small number aren't but most of them... just make me shudder.
Also, where does that have to do anything with being interested in just what's on the outside. You shouldn't try reading something between the lines when there's nothing to read. I seriously doubt I'll ever miss out, and honestly, taking most European women I know... I'd appreciate missing out. That way I don't have to deal with them and I'm glad about that.
And honestly, it doesn't matter to me if she's cool or not. I wouldn't be interesting because I'm 100% sure that she woud lack a certain something. And so far I've only found this certain something on women like Naoko, or Yuki, or Naoko's mother, or etc etc etc.
My main thing is surely not "she doesnt look like tha other women i have dated", sorry to burst that bubble. There's a lot more than just looks (if I would go for only that I'd find mega sluts like Paris Hilton interesting, but I'd rather shoot myself than letting someone like that within 20 yards of me).
I've been in relationships with European women before Naoko (too bad she has to go back home because her sabbatical is running out, but oh well, we had two extremly good years), mainly Austrians, but also a Dutch. But you know, none of them would be a match for Naoko. They're insignificant compared to her. Sure, they were taller, and would be considered more attractive in Europe, and I know that Jen, the Dutch one, was overall nicer than Naoko but eh... None of them had this certain something.
I think the best example for a woman who absolutely fascinates me is still Naoko's mother. She's 48, but looks like some 38, amazing. But she also has this mixture of a feminine side and a very well developed dedication. She's not really tall, but I can always sense a certain strength and willpower in her. It's that mixture that makes her absolutely great. I owe it to her that I finally understood what "ganbatte wa" means. I get along great with her, and I'm not calling her "hime" for no reason. She's a lady, every inch a real lady. For me she's, well, the wife of my daimyo. I think, given the right circumstances, I would kill for her, maybe even die for her (I know I would for Naoko).
Agreed, some European woman could be smart, cool, nice, etc, but I'm 100% sure that she wouldn't have "it". And that... makes them absolutely not interesting for me. Without "it", no chance. And honestly, I doubt there's any woman in Europe who could be a match for Naoko. That's impossible.
People learn from experience, don't forget that. And my experience tells me to stay away from European women, or white women in general (or maybe I should say non-asian women?). That's the way it is.
As for soulmates... for once, I'm not sure if such things even exist, maybe, maybe not. And secondly, I know she's not in Europe. And well, I will look over her personality if she's European, tough luck. That's the way it goes. I'm not willing to make any concessions, I'm too old for such games. Either 100% or forget it. "Aut Casear, aut nihil" as the Romans once put it. If there's something like a soulmate, I know I will find her and I already know where she is. The problem is just finding her. That'll take a while.
And yes, if she's not on a similar level as Naoko (or her mother, or Yuki, or or or... etc) I won't be interested. Such is life. People have experiences and preferrences, and surely nobody has the right to judge or argue about my preferrences.
| KouSeiya315 wrote: | | Yeah, because all of us with blonde hair and blue eyes have the exact same personality and background. |
Did I say that? Nope. Did you want to read it that way? More likely. If you would have read all of it you'd have seen that I mean the whole cultural background. There's nothing to learn by dating a French or Dutch or Austrian woman, it's basically the same culture, for me, it's boring. I also want to learn something from the relationship. And no, I usually don't go for the "just" date thing anyway, that's even more boring. Agreed it's somewhat interesting when you're younger, but after a few years it gets boring. By now I say either 100% or forget it.
Fact is, I consider them boring, so sue me. Either cry me a river or get over it.
And I still say, no woman in Europe can ever be a match for Naoko.
And another lesson from experience... Those who point fingers first and whine loudest are usually the ones who're most guilty fo whatever they're accusing you of. I doubt that anyone here is 100% neutral in such a case, most are just too scared to admit it.
