Nah...I don't have any tattoos. Not because of the pain aspect, but because I found out after taking Chinese history that I unconciously believed in the Confucian concepts of not marring the body your parents gave you.
So...no tattoos, piercings, I don't smoke, and don't drink much. But I do like shots. In fact, I look forward to them. I had real fun in the hospital when they were setting an IV in my left arm, but I was so dehydrated they couldn't find a vein in that arm, so they poked me again in my right. It was wonderful....
That's cool! That's gr8 that you don't smoke. I'm trying sooo hard but I guess I don't have too much will power. The NYC law that prohibits smoking doesn't help much b'cuz everyone goes outside the bar/louge/club to smoke anyways - rain, snow, whatever the weather. The good thing is that when I come home, I don't smell too bad!

Well, you could move to California as a first step...good luck smoking anywhere here.... But seriously, I know it take a lot of willpower to quit smoking. You should try seeing your doctor, I'm sure he'll find a program that would help you.
I helped a gf quit smoking once because I refused to be around her or kiss her (unless she drank the whole bottle of listerine, which could lead to other problems....). She used one of those patch systems. I also made her stick things in her mouth to help her habit like a lollipop, among other things....(uh...you know, bananas, carrots, icicle pops....).
You have to find what's right for you. _________________

It's great you helped her kick the habit, but the way you described it...I'll be back. I need to get my head out of that gutter. One sec...
Tried to make that one funny, guess it worked. Well, I did provide an endless supply of lollipops, but I don't jam things into women's mouths...
...unless they want me to.
Thanx 4 d a advice. I know it's all up to me. Guess I need to work harder on my yoga/tai chi. I should quit soon b'cuz when I play softball, I find it difficult and frustrating when I run.
Whoooaaa, wait, what? You jammed what in womens mouth? Just kidding. WHAT! Suck on WHAT???

Just a programming head's up for those in the U.S.
PBS is focusing on their Asian programs this month, and there's a documentary titled "Conspiracy of Kindness" (2004) that I think is well worth anyone's time. (Check your local listings to see if and when it's gonna be on again.)
It's the story of Sugihara Chiune, and what he did for the Lithuanian Jews.
Sounds odd, doesn't it?
Mr. Sugihara was a Japanese diplomat, the Acting Consul at Japan's Embassy in Lithuania, in the late 1930s.
A man who, against the orders of his government, wrote over 2,000 Japanese Visas for Lithuanian Jews, which allowed them to escape the Nazis.
Like Schindler (of "Schindler's List") and Raoul Wallenberg (The Swede who is credited with saving thousands of Hungarian Jews) and Jan Zwartendijk (the Dutch Diplomat who also went on writing visas, regardless of what his government said) there is a cedar grove planted around a memorial to Mr. Sugihara in Israel, honoring his memory.
The documentary is fascinating. It gives you (it gave me) a whole new understanding of the Japanese / Jewish relationship which began back in the 1890s.
And it also gives you an interesting picture of how Japan's desire to own Manchuria, and it's decision to go to war with both China and Russia... turned the United States into a world leader in international finance.
Anyone interested in Japan really should see this one. _________________
