Which is a lot like a Doctor coming to you and saying, It's only (clean it up) your eyes. You can get along without them.

Hanzo the Razor, oh my. What an exercise in chauvanistic bad taste. Shocked

Do not ever, ever show those movies to any female friend, family or SO. You will probably get de-nutted. Sweat

So now I'm sure you really are eager to see it after such a good recommendation! Smile hehe

Well, I have seen one of those movies... It's pretty extreme, to say the least... Not something you'd watch in mixed company unless a clear warning was posted... Sweat

They have a certain charm as curiosities of the 70s sexploitation genre. I laughed when I watched them, but I was laughing at them, not with them, as it were. Twisted

Hmm.

I've seen the Hanzo movies in theaters with mixed crowds, and everyone seemed to have a great time.

I've watched them at home, with friends, female friends, and everyone seemed to enjoy them. There was a good deal more commentary, and a few more jokes than you get when you watch your run of the mill Samurai slasher. But all in fun.

These movies aren't for little kids.

But if you're looking for movies in bad taste... I can recommend more than a few that would make Hanzo look like a bit of Disney fluff.

But, each to their own.

BMW

I saw Matango last week. Camp. Odd.

One minute it looks like a scene out of "Adventures In Paradise" staring Gardner McKay.

And the next they're doing an episode of the X-Files.

For me, the funniest part was when Miki Mizuno's grandma is standing on the side of the yacht, as it sails out in the middle of the ocean, singing her big number. (Sort of like one of those gawdawful Elvis adventure movies.) She actually gets two songs in the movie.

And if I haven't mentioned it enough... Miki's grandma, Kumi Mizuno, was a full on mondo hotty back in the early 60s when this movie was make.

I don't think I could watch it again, but it wasn't annoying...

Geezer, I googled Kumi Mizuno just to see who you are talking about. You're not kidding.

I'd vote the same. Interesting to watch it as an example of the period and genre, but not so good for re-watchability. Is that a word?

Maybe if there was a Matango drinking game or something I'd watch it again.

BMW

Never heard of it.

But since it's being rereleased, Neflix has it. So I put it on my queue.

Sounds interesting, anyway. If no one else has any comments on it before it arrives, I'll let you know what I think.

I'm a bit confused. These two are different films, right?

I think the second link (tbs.co.jp) is for a stage version. I saw the different prices they had for tickets.

Tokyo Eyes

SPOILER~

Shinji aka 'K' got shot in the movie, it happened accidentally. i actually watched this movie alone at night in my country when it telecast hmm this year.

i got so attracted by the whole thing that i went searching more abt this movie via net. im amaze to know that the director purposely did not show any blood thru out the whole movie even though K has 'shot' so many people. but we got to see K's blood in the end. the ending is sweet which is unexpectedly becuz i thought he is dying for sure. the 'thing' abt the gun is really unique to me, i have never seen a movie like this.

i actually enjoy all the way, and wish to get the vcd so that i can re-watch again. and show my sister how great shinji acted becuz when i told her the next day i saw a great movie, she didn't really believe..until today..
