Same sort of computer driven subs... but with shows like Unmarried Family I found I could follow the context. They'd get the tense wrong, they'd get the pronouns wrong, but if you were watching, and listening, you could follow the story. Because the words, the conversations followed the story line.
It could be a little frustrating, but after watching an episode or two, I got the gist.
With something like Love Complex it's all fast, snappy patter, and total non-sequiturs. Everyone's talking in riddles, or just out and out lying, so what they are saying has very little to do with what you're seeing.
It's the sort of piece that's meant to be confusing and over complicated, and a bit baffling for the native Japanese audience. So it pretty much toasted the computer program that created the subs. _________________

Wow! I didnt find those subs so bad. But maybe I found the show so all engrossing I didnt notice, its been awhile since I saw it. But it certainly isn't Jem's work either!! I think Im pretty flexible though when it comes to subs compared to alot of people. My mind just translates the strange things into something more comprehensible.
Im watching Antique again for the 4th time which shows my tolerance. Its the only drama Ive seen more than once. SO BRILLIANT!! _________________

Eve,
I can tolerate a lot in terms of subs. And every time I get one with "hints" instead of a translation, I remind myself of what it was like watching shows without subs.
But every now and then something really good comes along... and I want all of it.
Watching this show, (And I got my copy from you, so you know how beautiful the video is on these discs) with these subs is like eating a brilliant meal, with your nose stuffed up. _________________

It is a crying shame. Youre right. Love Complex was so extraordinary. _________________
just finished it .... well i was hooked to it, just had to see it all !!
SPOILER ALERT
another thing i liked was the ending... not like the usual stuff that she would stop at the airport and they lived happily ever after shit.. instead more practical and realistic ... they accepted each other and then she continues to NY.
and well first time ... seen nanako in a commanding kindda role, was nice , am getting to appreciate her more as an actress![/b]

The ending was terrific. And Nanako is always terrific. I became a huge fan of hers after watching Toshiie TO Matsu where she had another commanding, though demure, role.
Have you seen it yet, z123_us?
That is a fanstastic drama. _________________

Just watched Gokusen 2 Episodes 1-5. Its pretty much a carbon copy of the first series, but its still very entertaining. Seems a lot more emotional than the first series tho. Now I need to wait and find the rest of the series subbed
