and almost all of the time, the voice actors for the dubbed version are just horrible
Yes, I'll have to agree with you here Felinewong, but there are some good anime with dubs. I think the Dragonball series had good dubs, along with Fruits Basket, and the guy who did the voice of Kintaro Oe in Golden Boy was awesome
I'm listening to anime in Japanese now, its my way of learning the language _________________

hm, you can try using edonkey and programs like that but usually the quality of the videos avaliable on those programs won't be that great.
for direct dl, some sites such as narutofan offer them, but you have to pay, and the selection is not that wide.
and just wondering, how come not using bt?

and i started on another series (again), started watching gungrave now. dunno why i didn't dl this series early, up to ep 5 now and really cool stuff so far

Yes. I know of one place that allows FTP. However, the animes it has are generally older, lower quality video, and the site isn't easy to use (you have to get into a queue and the download is slooooow). The site is: http://anime.plan9.de/anime/
Warning, I think you are only allowed to queue once, if you try multiple times, you get banned. Read all the info on the site, like the FAQ before you start, Caveat Emptor and all that.
Or IRC. I don't use it myself, but I'm under the impression that if you know where to look you can get just about anything on IRC.
But Bittorrent works best for me. There's so much stuff on Bittorrent, I don't even have time to look for other places to get anime.

Sorry...that's what happens when you know a bookworm....

Before that, I've gotta get Ghost in the Shell: Innocence SE... July 12.
There's a special edition coming out? Darn it...I bought the regular version when it came out. Hopefully the DVD cover is better.
The Stand Alone Complex took GIS in a slightly different direction, focusing on Section 9 as a team, throwing in some police drama, and a very heavy dose of philosophy over symbolism in each episode. _________________

The big gripe (apparently) about the current release is that the English subs are for the hearing impaired, with all the sounds detailed in the subs...
The SE version supposedly has corrected that problem.

Not a problem.
Hey, I'm looking at the manga at the Borders site and didn't realize that it's in color... I had expected it to be plain ol' black and white like most manga I've seen... Not sure if that's good or bad.
So, I'm guessing you liked it? . It's still one of my favorite films, live-action or anime. It took me several viewings as well. I recommend the manga, because it's a longer format, the information and symbolism is more thinly spread (except the last two issues), and it may help you understand. I picked up a republished copy at Borders.

I gotta ask what you guys recommend right now, anything is fine, action, romance, anything. My brother needs anime to watch since he bored and got nothing to do. He is currently downloading Tsubasa Chronicles
He pretty much watches the animes I watch, but i think he more open to other types more so than me. Thanks in advance.
I gotta make him sign up here at Jdorama and have him post a request by himself.... _________________

Only part of it is in color...the rest of it is in black and white. I think Shirow put some if it in color to hook american audiences.
Thanks...never saw that site for it before. I like how it mentions it's influence on the Matrix. The Matrix was always seen as something unique...haha...not so. _________________

From the excerpts on Amazon that I've seen, I think I like Mamoru Oshii's artwork better... And I think I saw a paperback version if GIS drawn by Oshii that's available...

Yeah, Wikipedia seems to be a pretty cool site... First heard about it when I was delving into the background of Eric Clapton's classic song, Layla...
