Title: Aitai Kimochi (The Need to See You)
Words: Takuro
Music: Takuro
The need to see you melts into a sigh.
My dear one just as I remembered
in the nostalgic feelings that I can't rid myself of,
the smoldering bitterness of each mistake made in my youth
remains.. where is my dream?
time flows on, leaving only me behind
since then I've had my share of loves.
neither the gentle evenings nor the morning goodbyes
make me feel the way you do. *1
freed from all of it
pull close together and dance under the stars
that smoking white passion
for all the love I had for you, I am that much weaker
The masculinity you wanted from me,
and the femininity you showed glimpses of,
touched my heart, a momentary love.
You're the only one who could ever, or will ever, be my guide.
I thought I'd forgotten, but the scent of this street corner
so like you, stirs up my feelings.
shined upon by a sinful moon, tonight
would you please forgive my lapse in manliness
Sorry my love
it's a time I can never again go back to
only tonight the nightly wind gives pain to my foolishness
if the dreamchasers have no place to sleep
what are they wandering around looking for?
I compared my love against the setting sun
and saw my life in the rising sun.
The way you talked like Tennyo. *2
Don't tease me pretending you understand.
even if the day I can look back on all this hasn't come.
I'll never forget you.
You're the only flower blooming in my wilderness.

Translator's Notes: On to the *'s!
*1 - the word shibirerareru means "to become numb" "to fall asleep" (as in my leg fell asleep) or "fascinated by" We used this translation because the word is also a type of slang used to describe something moving. Like if there were two girls talking and one said that her boyfriend told her, "and then he said 'I don't need anyone but you' and I was all wow." The other girl would then reply. Shibireru!
*2 - Tennyo is a Japanese goddess. Whether the song actually refers to her specifically we aren't sure, but, Tennyo has a shawl which wraps around her and enables her to fly through the air.
