Hi z123_us,
Exactly how hot is it in Paris? Because after reading what you and oberon had to say from the Netherlands I was just wondering. I have a friend who lives in Metz France and likes to go mountain biking. So I guess he won't be doing that !!!! Sweat

well here it's about 30 degrees celcius and i guess in Paris it would be the same

well today was a little bit better but one has been having like 35 degrees in past days ... worst out here is not just the heat but the fact that there is nothing to take care of it like fans or air conditioning ... in the houses !

well mountains r a total different story man ... they r cool surroundings!

Well I went to my on-line temperature conversion site and it told me that 30c is 86F degrees. That is hot! Sweat

Well now Paris is hot as you-know-what!!! 35C is 95F!!!! Sweat
Yes my friend who lives in Metz is an outdoorsy guy. He rides a mountain bike and he races with a group of guys. Where they race, I am not quite sure. The temps still sound too hot to be outdoors. In Paris I knew the houses didn't have air conditioners, but no fans either!!!!

I hope the temps drop soon for you z123_us and oberon. Smile Thank you both for answering my question. Thanx!

well ofcourse all stores and offices and maybe big appartments r airconditioned

but normally airconditioning or fans r not part of the construction ever out here and well u know it is all OLD construction as compared to US ...

but like in India where i come from and fan is like just understoof to be had !! ... air conditioning is extra.

so thats why out here it becomes a bit more difficult!

Oh I knew what you were saying z123_us. I remember in the news last year that hundreds of people died in Paris' summer heat, esp. the elderly. Lets hope this summer is less deadly there.

So you are from India z123_us? You should be used to all that heat. Smile
Don't you drink hot beverages in the heat, like hot tea so that you will perspire more and then the body will cool off. Or do I have that piece of information all wrong? Confused Smile

YIKES .. hot drinks in this heat ... ME no way, i stick to my juices and ice tea mango flavor SmileSmile

as i said in india all is air conditioned ... so is ok ... but these days in north india, outside in daytime is like 45 degrees ... so like >110 fahrenheit .. now that is unbearable for even indians ... so basically u dont go out in day!

i could not believe it when in 2003 over 15000 people died due to a heat wave in france...... in such a developed nation Shake Head ... now they r more prepared for it.. i hope so !

Nice tradewinds today. Not all that hot.
However, down at Farmer's Market was blazing. I think it's from all that stuff on the roof (that looks like moldy marshmallows) to prevent fires from spreading or something?

Sorry to hear you are having such a loud thunderstorm z123_us but happy to hear that your heatwave may have finally broken because of it. Applaud

We are expected to have late day scattered thunderstorms for the next few days. Today our temps will get up to the 90sF and we will have the 3 'Hs'-hazy, hot and humid. I like the sound of thunder and the sight of lightening as long as everyone stays safe! Smile

Down South we dont consider 60% humidity. Big Grin
80% and below is considered dry dry dry.

Well, in Upstate NY the weather was 95+ degrees today,
hotter than Florida, WTF!! HOT! Sweat

Currently overcast with no sun in sight. It must be a thicker than normal fog base today. And cool. Ahh, it feels nice to be able to go outside and not sweat buckets as soon as I reach the door.
