I wouldn't mind having an armored Humvee... then again, I wouldn't want to drive a battleship like that in the city. I'd run over everything and then those narrow roads there lol... Though, finding a parking space wouldn't be too hard, just park on top of a Smart or any other small car hehe

Yup, Im planning no buying it Victory! Peace! from the preview trailers, it looks pretty well done, the racing scenes. I wonder if the japanese girl talks japanese or chinese....I don't personally know if Jay Chow is the best actor to play Takumi....but I think Edison Chen will fit the role of Ryosuke just fine Mr Green

There's a chinese screener version out of Initial D the movie, watched it yesterday. the original is cantonese spoken, while this rip is in mandarin. So the dubbing just sounds awful (to me). I heard from a friend in Malaysia that Anne Sukuki's voice was dubbed to cantonese in their theature version. In Singapore somehow, they are showing the Mandarin version Head Scratch

The movie itself is decent IMO, they managed to capture the feel of the anime. The racing, the gasstation, most of it is there.

The cast on the other hand... the guy in the Skyline looked ridiculous with his moustache, edison chen was ok - but not suitable to play the charismatic Ryousuke Takahashi. they even managed to make Anthony Wong (one of the best HK actors left IMO) look stupid as Bunta. And Takumi? they wanted a dork, and Jay Chow surely does look like one here hehe

I did read on some forum (don't remember where) that his lines were dubbed to canto too. So there's probably 2 versions out: one all Cantonese and the other one all in Mandarin.

personally I hate dubs, so that screener was bit of letdown for me.
sidenote: I saw "Kuma" from Gokusen in it too, he's in the Nightkids gang Mr Green
