Yup, someone should do that and then give him a big hug

I think some of you are confused or have been mislead by what other people have been saying. While the story is true abut Uchi, what comes after it has been twisted around.
JE released a statement that specified Uchi's punishment to be for an indeterminate amount of time. That means nobody knows how long he will be away from the media. He is not being suspended for 6 months, that is false because JE will determine the length of punishment depending on how fast the scandal blows over. Unfortunately, some fans have not been understanding that to get Uchi back means we need to forget this ever happened, stop digging for information, and show JE that we understand why he's being punished (because he broke a law) and that we're mature enough to know the meaning of consequences. Until then, JE will keep him out of the media, so to all the people who are signing petitions (Johnny and Mary san despise things like that) and are rallying to "free Uchi" are actually preventing him from coming back faster.
As for some people who have said that what he did is "no big deal", they're wrong. He broke a law and so he must be punished. People need to understand that the Japanese media doesn't tolerate scandals of any type, and for them, image is everything. So while some people have shared their personal stories about drinking while they were underage, it does not and cannot apply to Uchi's case since he is a celebrity who is looked up to and probably emulated by fans.
And finally, for the people who think his punishment is too harsh, that's actually wrong as well. This is routine damage control in the Japanese media. To get the public to forget that an idol was involved in a scandal, they have to remove their faces from each and every media outlet. The way the entertainment industry works is this: the less often people see your face, the harder it is to remember who you are. If they take Uchi's face out of the media (it's NOT considered elimination), then hopefully people will soon forget about that one night he made a mistake and he can come back.
But, I'm glad that this topic hasn't really been talked about here. It shows that people are willing to forget this and stop worrying, being angry, or getting depressed over the situation.
Well underaged drinking is pretty irresponsible in a way....but that lady is stupid for going on a dare like that...look at what the commotion occured!!? Okay...late on the hot topic...yeah this was on the news in Japan ONCE as far as I remember saying that Fuji TV is tying up more security and giving suspensions to the fuji guys who didn't stop the drinking and some got fired....
This is the article I translated from Asashi shinbun...:
Fuji announcers were in the drinking
NEWS 18 year old drunk boy and disobeyed the law towards the volleyball show
Popular group "NEWS" member boy(1Cool was drunk and caused a commotion at Sendai area and was tooken in by the Miyashiro police and for this problem, at Fuji TV on the 16th, the same companies announcers and sports workers were being drunk with the boy and that has been identified....Knowing that the boy was underaged, he was still drunk and the same company said "At that time, they were supposed to watch and the co-workers didn't make the right decision and so we would like to deeply apologize to the fans and related people to the boy." By Fuji TV, the boy at the 14th night, was at the girl volleyball "2005 world granpry" and after that around at 9:00, he went with the sports workers and got drunk by appearing there. Also at the 15th at 1:00 AM, the lady announcer Kikuma Yukino and some people with the boy went to another place and got more drunk. From the same company,"The workers didn't pay the close attention and care and caused this problem." Later the Kikuma announcer and some others susoension will be searched closely and determined. And she was cancelled in this variety show and the boy will be determined how it goes for the appearance for Ganbatteikimashoi....
This one came out on the next day it occured so now everything is accurate. Well Kikuma announcer is a adult so the suspension is cut short but maybe at that cut time for Uchi, he should take extra care and threapy because there maybe something wrong......but what a mistake...after resting for a month and finally coming back, this has to occur!
Aka...you got drunk at my age???? Woah...I drank a little champagne and beer like when I was ten but it was disgusting and I drank wine before but sooo little but never actually did that much.....

Hahaha.yes...Lena I got drunk when I was 15 years old.. That's so shameful. But I didn't make a commotion like Uchi..lol I just slept on the bed and woke up in the morning feeling drowsy.
Well you only taste the wine and the beer but not like you drank all of it. As for me..*slap myself* I take the good side of it, after that I know how it feels to be drunk and it's not good. I'm a good girl...
@essie0755...hey, we're not that kind of fan. I just think people make mistake and there's no use for us to whine over that situation. I tend to forget about those things that happened to celebrity. They're only human and it's not fair for them not to be treated normal like people who have ordinary life. In conclusion, if he's wrong then he's wrong so he deserves to get sanction..it's a fair justice..(hmm..this is the part where I have to thank that I went to law school for educating me to give clear perspective about what's fair. and justice...lol).

Wow, I haven't been in this thread for so long, Aka must wanna kill me!
I feel sorry for Uchi, but he should have known better, and that announcer lady should have known better than him!
I think all we can do is forget about it and hope it all blows over fast so Uchi can come back soon. We just have keep supporting everyone. _________________

Thanks pinkgloss for the Kanjani 8 PV! Any kind soul that has Osaka Rainy Blues (new version..the one where they sang in the rain) PV can kindly upload it? Thanks!! ^^
woah Aka, you got drunk at 15? haha that was the age I tried a tiny sip of beer and never touched it until now. Tasted quite gassy and weird. I think I will stick to Sprite or Coca Cola. As for wine, I tried a sip when I was 14. The taste was ! But now I am used to it. I never got drunk in my life before and will never will. I guess I limit my alcohol intake to very little. Besides, i'm underage. I drink at most about 1 tiny papercup of wine once or twice a year presently. And my parents are always present when I drink! (because there is wine when there are celebrations or gatherings with relatives) _________________
