it is on astro channel no 19. in chinese though...you can watch it every thursday and friday at 4 pm....

Thanks! No wonder I never get to watch it when I stay in some places that have ASTRO. They always block a lot of Chinese channels except in Johor. It's ok if TOKIO is not always on air, at least I still have some hope left. Before, I was thinking of migrating to Japan and spending the rest of my time lazying infront of the tv watching the Dash programs and every other programs with TOKIO members, esp Tomoya, in them.

yeah, I'm like ...grrr...everytime another Korean drama pops up. I can't stand the hero crying all the time. And what's with that legendary doctor story currently airing on TV2 (6-7pm weekdays)? I feel like strangling someone. How come TV3 doesn't air Japanese serials anymore? They used to.

Great news, that! Thanks. I'll see if I can get my husband to agree with the idea. I'm a TV-addict, see. So, he thinks he's protecting me by trying to discourage me from having ASTRO coz then I'd be this Zombie instead of the wife he used to know hehe

Yep, a struggling scholar is what I am. I think the image that fits me best is that played by Leslie Cheung in A Chinese Ghost Story.

At the rate I'm going, I do think I'll be a student forever Shameful Cry

Yeah, Leslie's dead. The creepy thing is, his last movie was about someone committing suicide by jumping off a building. And then he jumped off a building. I bet that hotel owner was really pissed he chose that particular hotel as the jumping point Shake Head Go search the title if you really want to know. Some HK movies are like works of art and this is one of them. To me, the main character is the epitome of a struggling scholar. I bet you've watched the movie a coupla times on TV but didn't know the title since that's what's happened to me.

Hey, guys, do you think TV3 or TV2 will air JDorama regularly again if we all petitioned for it? I mean, TV2's currently airing Thailand, Philipines, Korean, HK, Malay and English dramas all in one day every weekday. I'm sure they can squeeze in a Japanese one.

Or maybe, if we all write in and flood their inboxes with requests they'd be hard-pressed to say no...I should think.

Okay, so this is the list of places I bought my Japanese stuff from:

-> Boxsets: Mukodono, Mukodono 2003, Yan papa, Handoku - Jaya Jusco in IOI Mall (all sold at RM29.90 but got a 30% discount. Wait until end of month for this discount thing to happen)

-> Movie: Private Detective Agency (RM14.90), Kanojo ga Shinjyatta (RM39.90 - Mandarin subtitled, can you believe I bought it anyway at this price?), TOKIO in Budokan 1999 (RM39.90) - Speedy in Subang Parade (quite costly, find alternative shops if possible)

OK, so I know they're not a lot but let me tell you the places I've been that don't have any other Tomoya or TOKIO titles other than the above. I don't know if that may change in the future so don't give up.

- Jaya Jusco IOI Mall. I've pretty much cleaned up the place of Tomoya. Everytime I go there (like every week to buy my manga), I search but in vain. See what I mean by not giving up? I just like to torture myself I suppose.

- Speedy in IOI Mall (none, those numbskulls just sell Korean dramas. I mean, seriously...who buy that stuff I would like to know?! They're killing the JDorama market) and Subang Parade (same story as in JJ)

- Tesco Puchong (same story as JJ, but their boxsets are pretty cheap at RM21.90 a piece. I bought my Kindaichi 3 there and am going there again today to buy no. 1 hopefully)

- Times Square. Got some but all in Mandarin subtitle except for the titles I've bought (see top of message). The price is nice though, cheaper than in JJ and Tesco Puchong. There are too many shops here, so eat something first before you begin your Kelas Mencari Bahan.

- I've been to One Utama but at that time I brought my younger sister along. Big mistake! She was bored out of her skull and her feet hurt for following me around too many CD racks. Poor kid. I'll be going again...ALONE!...to surf the shops and see if I can cover the whole huge complex in one day. Wish me luck.

I'll also be expanding my horizon next month to the places you guys have mentioned and will give full report if possible. This month my life is a bit too full what with my brother graduating and me following my hubby pergi outstation and the datelines! Oh, what can I say about the datelines. I've never met them yet. Maybe in my next life hehe

Hi cghu007 w00t!

we were disscussing about doing a online petition at the hello malaysian thread...tv2 are getting more and more interesting nowadays. I even manage to watch a japanese movie,Space Travellers with eri fukatsu, takeshi kenishiro and other stellar cast that i can't remember their name.
even animes shown on tv is dub to chinese=T. i prefer if they just let the characters speak in nihongo with malay or english subtitle.

BTW, i'v watched the leslie cheung movie. so u r like his character...

When?! When did this happen? How come I don't know. Can you tell me which slot aired that & day of the slot? Thanks. I can't find that movie anywhere. I'm a Takeshi fan too but at the moment I'm focusing all my entertainment budget towards anime (I'm collecting Saiyuki & Conan), manga, Tomoya's work and TOKIO's live performances...so a bit tight. Found the Returner though. btw, have you seen Princess Blade? That's one mean, kick-ass J-movie. Main character is the heroine.

The bumbling, clueless, earnest traits minus the hardworking one. I'm very lazy...no, make that super lazy. For eg, I'm supposed to study right now and I'm doing something else more interesting Shake Head

Thanks for the link. How many have signed? I'll look it up maybe next week. Hope there will be a lot of people signing up then so the quicker I can get to watch Doramas on TV. Yey!

Ok. Kelas Mencari Bahan Tomoya reporting:

Just went to Jaya Jusco IOI Puchong. There's a 30% discount per boxset (the sale I told you happen rarely, remember? Well it's not really that rare...about once every 4-6 months depending on somebody's whim. I wonder who that somebody is?)

Every boxset is sold at RM29.90 except for some that can go as low as RM18.?? to more than RM40. The discount is only for the RM29.90 below I think. This is before discount. Make sure you find the special sale racks hidden behind some shelves within the CD area before ligning up at the Dorama shelf at the front. Some boxsets are priced less there although same title.

Some artistes I thought may be of interest to you guys:

Takeshi Kaneshiro (all 3 boxsets are available)
Tomoya Nagase (if you've already got Mukodono 2003, Yan papa and Handoku...don't bother searching)
Dohmoto Koichi (some titles are available but not sure what coz it's written in Chinese at the back)
Dohmoto Tsuyoshi (Kindaichi 1)
Matsu Jun (some including Kindaichi 2 at RM25.90 b4 discount)
Takuya Kimura (a lot! Including Engine at RM29.90 b4 discount. Can u believe it. Why oh why aku tak minat mamat ni je? Senang betul nak cari bahan dia. SMAP CD pun melambak2 Grumble )

Anyway, there are lots but most are the Juniors.

Oh, I also found Matsuoka's Heaven Cannot Wait in this one shop called Moshi Moshi. It's on the last floor, I think it's 2F? Hidden behind a mountain of Korean boxsets so make sure to ask the salegirl where they put the Japanese dramas. There are 2 available today so in case you or your friends are searching for it, better hurry. I'm not so into Matsuoka but I do want to find his Manhattan Love Story coz I wanna watch him as Tencho. Mesti best!

This sale Dorama di JJ IOI Puchong will probably end at the end of this month I think. So, what are you waiting for?!! Dancing

There are links here on trading as well, but at the moment I'm not desperate enuff to try it.

Actually, I don't really support it since from what I read...it's a lot like piracy, sorry if I'm wrong. I like Tomoya too much to do that to his work so I suppose I'll stick to buying the originals even though it costs some pretty penny.

But there are some people who sell 2nd hand original stuff, so you can always look around. Click here for a compilation of the good/bad traders in the JDorama forum.

I'm currently compiling a list of internet sites that sell Tomoya/TOKIO's stuff, but ... look at the prices!:

CDJapan (in yen)

YESAsia (in dollar)

Tomoya's Movies

ClubVCD (not sure if it's worth it though since all the titles are pretty expensive)

All are very takai! So, it's better to find alternatives before going to the net for stuff.
