I only needed 2 more classes (Modern Physics 1 and 2) to have a degree in Biophysics. But um...my last sem. of school I was given the option to take 2 Biology classes twice a week (1 hour long each) which meant that I could go home early and no school at all 3 days a week; or finish up either a degree in Sociology or Biophysics. I liked Soc. more so it was actually what my advisor recommended. I was a Physics minor, but a major in Physics would have required me to take one of the hardest Physics classes on the face of the earth....Biophysics was much easier to do.

Anyway, guess what I did? I totally took the two Biology classes and slacked off for the remainder of the school year . Yeah, it would have looked better on my record had I gotten another field under the old belt...but at the time that idea didn't seem so attractive . We called it Senior-itis at school . _________________ Hello there ^_^ | |

You'd be surprised how easy it really is (perhaps slightly moreso 10 years ago) to get an English teaching job in Japan as long as you're an American, Canadian, British or Australian with native-English-speaking ability and a college degree. This is all that is essentially required for most English teaching jobs.

It helps if you're not of East Asian descent though, from the experiences I've heard from other teachers I met, hahaha. There is a staggering difference in the way Japanese people give jobs to Caucasians vs. Asians (or others argue non-Caucasian period
  ). |

Aw poo... Asians discriminating against Asians.

You get a whole different diploma along with your graduating diploma. It's like the Advanced Placement program, the classes are basically the same, but IB may or may not be more challenging. |

What type of career does it prepare a person for?

Thanks for explaining. I got confused because it had the name baccalaureate in it which implies a B.A. or a B.S. degree from a college or a university.
