If you don't know, there is a special aired after the original Beach Boys series that ties up the whole storyline and you won't be sad with the "real" ending after watching it. Don't want to give out any unwanted spoilers though, so ask me if you really want to know.

Yeah Ultraman is cool but we all know that the Power Ranger is better.

yah the series ending was quite sad... i wanna watch the special too... where did u watch it ?

Oh, I watched it on vhs and I had a copy but I think quality isn't too great. But I love BB and forever my favorite. Smile

I'm a newbie here so please help me out a little bit. A lot of dramas I see something like 11 episodes and 1 special. Does that mean there are 12 episodes total? What is this special episode exactly anyway? Does it end at 11 or at 12? I'm confused as to why the Japanese Long Vacation DVD doesn't include the special (at least according to online store) if it is indeed 12 episodes. I would really appreciate the help.

I'm dubbing this old drama for a friend right now (anything that aired before 2000 seems to be "old"). Not having watched it for several years, a whole slew of memories came back. I never really was caught up in the story, about two hunks whose lives cross paths one crucial summer at the shore. However, I sure embraced that theme song for karaoke (ask anyone who has heard my five-star monomane of Sorimachi's howl). And, man, Inamori Izumi was sure a pretty little thing in the 90s (conversely, Hirosue looked like a brat). I know a few people (not coincidently, all of them were female) who place this drama in the upper tier of their favorites. On the other hand, I don't believe Beach Boys is in my top twenty. What's everyone else's grade?
