hehe Well at least it will give you time to research. But isn't it dangerous to open up a CRT due to the capacitors inside? Head Scratch Or is that the older TV sets?

All CRTs have a flyback transformer that stores roughly 15,000 volts...

As long as I don't touch the transformer with a metal object or similar I'm okay... Most of that stuff is insulated anyways.

When I was a kid, I was messing around with an old B&W TV of ours and I accidentally touched that tranformer with a screwdriver... The arc vaporized part of the screwdriver tip. Sweat hehe

Hmm, that is an odd problem. Are you using Windows XP? Try Googling the problem to see if others have seen it. I personally have not. Head Scratch

no problem is using the file or even if change the View of the files in the explorer

heh I've had my eye on it for awhile but now that I threw out my 19" CRT monitor I'm forced to get a larger one.. it's going to be better then my aunts 15" screen which can only do 1024x768...

i'm used to running 1600x1200.

since u r going in for a LCD ... be careful for the resolution .. sometimes lcd made for 1600x1400 types ... do not work well for lower resolutions.

they r made to work optimum display for a specific resolution unlike CRT's which stay with a variety of resolutions also

Yes...!

LCDs seem to have one resolution (native resolution) that they work best at... Another reason why I like CRTs.

lol I know about display's... I did not spend 5 years learning computers for nothing.

CRt are ok.. but are not great for long term use being at the PC.
