lol I hope you like girls hehe

I wonder if I would get asked the same question... I've had people say I look 16 all the way to no more then 18.

Then they are like Shocked when I say i'm 20.

lol don't worry ;-p I just made the image because I thought it was funny how the words "girls" and "like" are so much a like Bleah

Anyway I had the same issue... I don't really look like 19, maybe rather 17 so usually I'd tell my age at the beginning to avoid confusion later. There were also people that said I looked 16 but the number of people saying that was about the same as those claiming I looked 20, so I don't take that too serious. Never the less, they all said it was good to look young, but in fact I'm worried about it... I'd rather look my age instead of younger...

It's the third or fourth picture of your message called "kyoto: temples, vending machines, etc..."
I'm not sure wether it's number 3 or 4 because somehow I see 2 pictures on top of eachother (Firefox version 1.04)

yeah, i see now. The temples in Kyoto were nice, just wish i had more time in Japan to see more, and especially the bamboo forests in Kyoto.

bamboo forests... when I was in Japan, I really wanted to see those.. but there were none in the areas I stayed in, only very small ones. The picture in my head where like those you see in Kung Fu movies, with huge fields of straight green bamboo, and a little mist to add atmosphere... but i'm not sure if you can find that anywhere in japan..

remember house of flying daggers?

there is one place that might have an abundance of bamboo, in Kyoto. I forgot the name of it, but i wanted to see that place. I will have to ask some of my japanese pen pals if there is such a place. If so, i really want to go there next time in Kyoto. i will be posting more pix soon of my time in Kyoto. Three or four areas you should definitely go while in Kyoto, Kinkaku-ji(The Golden Pavillion), Nijo Castle, Gion District, and Yasaka Shrine. My friend and I also went to the Nishiki Market and areas that were within walking distance of the Kyoto station and the place we stayed at. Yea, I remember that movie, House of Flying Daggers, i think they have forests of bamboo like that in China, for some reason, i thought they had them in Japan as well. Bonk

She says she only saw my email today for the first time *don't ask me how that is possible but anyway* and that she is sorry for being so late. She also said that because we took a picture she looks at it in a "natukasii" way (jdorama dictionary: (adj) dear/desired/missed/(P)) Big Grin And also that should would have wanted to meet me, and if it's possible she wants to meet again when I revisit Japan. So, yeehaw Smile I'm happy ^_^

Really!!??! Shocked
wow, just when you least expect it, right? and she comes out of nowhere to respond to an old old email that you sent her long ago. Not sure what her reason is for taking that long. I am use to having some of my pen pals that flake off, they just stop emailing me back, even if i reply back more than once to see how they are doing. Some email back from out of the blue, which is rare, but a few have been consistantly repying back, so far... Sweat hehe
She is a cutie, and hopefully you guys can keep in touch.
BTW: what is her name? and how old is she? in the Tokyo area?
yeah, make another revisit to Japan real soon, she will be there waiting for you! Thumbsup

Now to change subjects.......

Re: The "V" sign in Japanese photos:

I asked my friend in Japan why so many Japanese people use the "V" or Victory sign when they take photos and here is what she said:

"don't know the reason why. When I was very young they showed an animation film named "Our Sign is V " on TV. This was a story of girls who play volleyball. V is for victory as you know. Maybe the sign of two fingers is very simple and everyone can do it. LOL !"

That question, and "why are jdrama's only 10-12 episodes usually" should be in a FAQ...

then a Glossary of terms, like what CM stands for, would be good too..
(yes, i dont know what CM stands for Bleah )
