I went on a week trip to Osaka and let me tell you, it was my dream come true. I would rather stay in Tokyo but I had a budget. During that week I went to the heart of Osaka and to the countryside. u know, seeing Japan in movies and going there yourself was an unbelievable experience. I would for sure make another trip but only to Tokyo next time.
I hope you all would have a great time in Japan like the one I had!!!!!
Thank you so much lewiswan for sharing a part of your wonderful Osaka experience with us. That was great! Did you stay in a hotel or an inn or a hostel or with friends when you went to Osaka? Did you have favorite food or beverage that you liked there?
thanks, Lewisman for your osaka explanation on your trip.
the hotels carry, a robe, usually two pairs, one for her and one for him, and they are called Yukata. (like the one Bob Harris wore in Lost in Translation).
I haven't been to Osaka, but I have been to Hakone, Tokyo, and Kyoto, all worth visiting. Perhaps next time i will visit other areas of Japan like Osaka. Check out my "www" down below, it is my weblog w/pix of my japan trip that i took a few months back.

Have I mentioned that I so want to go to the Expo in Aichi? Oh money, why do you control me the way you do???
i'm sorry to tell you, but I went there... and I don't think it is worth the (any) money, to be honest... it was quite boring, and the pavilions weren't that impressive. Actually most of them were more like museums - you know, the boring kind of ones... with framed pictures of cultural events and very fake copies of famous paintings. Not so interesting for me at least... Then, to make sure I saw the most interesting thing in Aichi, I waited for 1.5 freaking hours in front of the Japan pavilion, but it was very disappointing I think. The technological things I expected to see weren't there... I mean, there were some.. like a tv screen that was 3d without glasses. But the quality was so bad it that wasn't impressive at all. There was only one thing sort of nearing my expectations, which was a 360 degrees hollow videosphere. Where you stand on a bridge and all around you is video. But also that was kind of disappointing because at the moment everybody was really enjoying it, it just ended -_- Like suddenly. Very strange... then after that was the last area which had fake bamboo trees and the building was supposed to mimic a day and night environment. which means red and blue lights.. how cheap :-S. So I don't want to complain all too much, but I think if you can miss a day, spend it on kyoto, or disneyland instead.
I know it's hard to believe, because they're hyping it sooo much, but really, you'll be disappointed. _________________

OK, almost in all middle class hotels will provide you with kimono something like a bathrobe for every guess. The hotels there do except you to wear it whenever youfre using their facilities and restaurants in their hotel. My advice to you is wearing the bathrobe like kimono, wear it the right way to save yourself from embarrassment while you walking around the hotel.
When you wearing the kimono, there with be two pieces left and right, plus a belt like rope for tightening the outfit. It is very important that you have the left side over the right side before tightening the outfit. If you manage to do it opposite, the locals would think youfre a walking ghost. That is because only buried ones wear their kimono right side over left side.

Thanks for your input, supermidget. For me, a world's expo is something different. The last time I went to one was in 1986, in Vancouver. I don't remember much, except through the pictures taken there. Anyways, I got the tickets for free after filling out an online survey.

wow that is expensive, just go on the shinkasen...
i would have gone to Osaka, but didn't have much time, so we just went to Kyoto only. I wasn't planning on going to the Aichi expo anyways, but heard from my pen pal that after 5pm is 2200 yen to go.

I stayed in a hotel called gTonami Royal Hotelh and I was with my friends from Hong Kong. I do have Japanese friends living in Japan but they are live in Tokyo and Nagano.
My favorite food was raw baby squid mixed with wasabi. Now this might sound sick to most of you but more Asian foods are admired by mouth texture. The taste is not the real concern but is the mouth texture of the food. Will the taste do count but foods in Asia are mostly judged that way.
I have to say, my favorite beverage was from a vending machine. The drink was by UCC coffee and this coffee contained no sugar and cream. Still it tasted amazing.

10 of them eh? good stuff there? haven't tried or heard of it before? did you get it from a vending machine or from the convenience store in Japan?
nah f*ck that vending machine shiet...it's not available here in the united states...well technically that's not true....they stop importing it several years ago but i wrote an e-mail to Sapporo and they said they rebranded the bottle and called it "Sapporo Reserve." so if you see Sapporo Reserve with a green and gold label that's it...i obviously believe the company rep...but that shiet like MOST japanese beers available here in not actually brewed in Japan, but the United States or Canada.....so basically it's still NOT available here in my opinion...it's a japanese malt beer with a really golden color.

You know there's a saying:
The best products in Japan stay in Japan.
Japan don't really export their precious products outside their country.
Good examples are eletronic goods.
