I got this show because it features Nagatsuka Koyzo and Fubuki Jun as a married couple.

They're not pop stars. And they're not sexy young things anymore (Kimura Yoshino fills that bill in this series). They're actors. Pros. And I really like both of them. Seeing either of their names in a cast list makes me want to grab a series.

This is another of those small, office/family heart-warming comedy/dramas from TBS.

And it's the sort of meat and potatoes series that keeps me watching Japanese TV.

No flash, and a simple plot, but the people in the show have completely endeared themselves to me.

I think your description of this series is right on the mark. I believe this series appeals to mature audiences more than to younger people. There is a measure of depth and sincerity to it rather than the banality and superficiality found in many of the dorama that star the pop icon of the moment. Kyozo Nagatsuka is a terrific actor, and Yoshino Kimura is only one of a select handful of dorama actresses whose acting ability matches their comeliness. BTW, when I heard her speak a few lines of English in the first episode, I thought this woman isn't just merely speaking her lines; she's probably fluent in English.

I am still waiting for my first Jdoramas collection to arrive!
Very excited!! w00t!

News No Onna
Long Vacation
GTO TV series
To Heart
Starwberry on the Shortcake
Bonus=Eve didn't tell me what is it yet. Thanks for the Bonus!!

I been thinking when the above titles do arrive. Which one should I start first. Maybe "News No Onna""????

I would like to guess that the Bonus drama would be Antique....maybe because Eve got a lot people hooked on it (remember Eve saying this....i think....).
Hmmm......I would say save the best for last. So watch GTO and Long Vacation after others. I haven't seen Long vacation yet, but I've heard lots of good stuff about it, am going to try to get my hands on it Mr Green

i'm now watching battle royale part 1 & 2. like his actor fujiwara tatsuya hehe real teen battle Victory! Peace! nanahara san gambatte ne !!!

I like Fujiwara Tatsuya also! I think he's a great actor, but it wasn't his performance in "BR" that caught my attention - I think it was "Shin Hoshi no Kinka" and then I saw him again in "Ai Nante Irane Yo, Natsu." I really liked his acting in the latter one!

I just finished Forbidden Love. It was sooo touching. I was so happy when in the end Michi woke up. And Takizawa Hideaki is sooo kakkoi!

Yeah, it's a good show. Predictable for the most part, but good.

I doubt if I wanna watch Gokusen 2, though.

And the plot is pretty much a repeat of the first series. Sad

I enjoyed "Gokusen 2", but mostly because I liked the interaction between Yankumi (Nakama Yukie) & the kocho sensei (Namase Katsuhisa), and of course all the cute guys in it. But like everyone else has said, it's pretty much a rehash of the 1st "Gokusen", so unless you like looking at good looking guys, you might want to just stick to the first series.

I started watching the current series of "Kochira Hon Ikegami Sho" & am enjoying it, especially since Kaneko Noboru joined the cast! Mr Green

I'm going to be very annoyed in just a few days.

I've started watching "Harmonia".

I got it because Miki Nakatani is in it. And I'll watch anything she's in.

But this is one of those odd little series where the main character (Miki) is brain damaged. She does not speak. Does not react to other people. Walks around like a Zombie through the whole thing.

The gimmicks being that she is a cello prodigy, and it looks like she's got something of Stephen King's "Carrie" in her. Every time someone annoys her, we get a close up of her eyes, and the people she doesn't like get hurt.

Now it's great to get to just stare at that beautiful face through each episode. But heck, it might as well just be a still photo of Miki in the corner of the room. It gets a bit samey.

As for the annoyance factor? It's set up as a mystery... and I don't have the final episode.

Oh well, that's the price you pay when you let your "to watch" spindle empty out.
