It's pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

If you can create potions in your Chem lab, you should be able to do this with no problems.
Of course, I knew a Physics PhD would could probably create a nuclear weapon, yet he couldn't use a PC if his life depended on it.

To keep this on topic, I have the Philips DVP-642. It plays Divx and Xvid, and is region-free-hackable. |
It was in the Buy, Sell, Trade forum of all places...
Anyways, there's a similar thread around here somewhere...

i've finally gave in and bought myself a nice xmas present...
Got myself one of those 720p DLP front projector ( they seem to have less problems to worry about than lcd projectors - vertical banding and screen door, although dlp does have rbe but luckily for me, i dont seem to see them) which arrived a week ago but I'm still waiting on my 100" pull-up projector screen (damn, fedex)...
anyway, just projecting to my wall now and i hav to admit, i was rather pleasantly suprised that even on the wall, the picture looks really nice...
I have rewatched my fav SEKACHU and Lord of the Rings, and watching those on a 130" wall is definitely quite a sight... picture quality is comparable to my old rear projector, but if you drop the size from 130" to 80" diagonal, its like watching a 80" plasma.... I'm trying to find my copy of macross zero and as soon as i find that, that's the next on my list to rewatch,
so, just a thought... if any of you guys are considering a flat screen, u may want to look at front projectors... its way cheaper and you get bigger picture... you need to have a dark environment though... On mine, i put blackout shades on the windows so i can watch them even during the day...
now if only my projector screen arrives today, that would be great... _________________

hey anyone, i got a problem concerning my stand-alone dvd player, philip 642. i've always tooted its horn for playing everything under the sun, plus it's kinda cheap too.
I'm now in the market for a new dvd player, however, because it now just flashes 'ERASE' in the display panel and doesn't do anything. won't eject, play, nothing. the only thing it does is if you hold on to the power button, it displays the 'ERASE', and if you hold the power button again, it powers off/turns off, and that's it.
i hope not to get another player, because it would be the 3rd philips 642 i'd be getting, so i hope to have this problem solved, but if not i'd have to get another player (hopefully a non-philips 642 model, but does everything that the 642 does).
Another question, what other players out there is similar to the 642 in playing everything, but around 50/60 dollars? I always hated to navigate thru Videohelp.com because its such a non-user friendly site, i figgered i'd ask here first. Thanx in advance for any tidbits.
later,
