Matsu Jun was really good. I want to watch more dramas with him. I only saw him in Kimi wa Petto and Gokusen.

I am satisfied how this Dorama end ... couldn't imagine them to be together after such a short time.
About Hasumi-sempai ... honestly, I liked his character in the Manga. He was exactly, how I would imagine the sempai for Sumire. But seeing this guy with the weird facial mimic ... buwaaah, can't stand it! He's not the sempai type in my opinion (and also not very good looking ...).

SPOILER!!! About the Manga:
There will be No. 13 from next week on and as far as I read in the Kiss Magazine, they will DEFINITELY be together. I really found it weird in the beginning, because it developed to just a normal relationship and not something special, but let's wait, what'll be next.

Geez. I'm glad I'm not the only one disliking the actor's looks. Frankly, he sort of spoiled the drama somewhat. But at least, Matsujun was so kawai & Koyuki so elegant that we always look forward for scenes when they were together & really abhor the scenes of Koyuki with the senpai. especially when the senpai acts so brutish, up to the point of 'date raping' Sumire in episode 6, really disgusting, right?

How many volumens has the manga? And what is the end? I heard about 10 volumens, but it's too much. The first volume finishes with episode three.

@Andro: The Dorama doesn't follow the manga all the time. They had to end the dorama after ten episodes, but the manga hasn't finished yet. In Japan, there will be No. 13 from September 13th on (only two days left!!!) and there's still a new chapter every two weeks. I know that there are already five books of Kimi wa petto in Germany. And ... *goesoffandsearchesthroughtheinternet* ... tokyopop has already eight in English (for u: www.tokyopop.com). But the title in German and English is different, it's "Tramps like us".

Oh yeah, I remember episode 6 ... anyway, I am happy that Sumire and Momo somehow "ended up together" and Hasumi-sempai is out of the way with Fukushima^^.

In the U.S. most major bookstores now have at least two or more bookshelves for just the manga! Barnes&Noble, Borders, WaldenBooks, even Suncoast Movie Stores now carry manga. They can be found under the graphic novel section.

Are journalist well paid in Japan? Sumire looked the ultimate yuppie, nice apartment & attire. So are all Japanese journalist especially those working in big reputable papers enjoy that kind of good life? Another curious thing is abt the working hours. Sumire seemed to be putting in so much extra hrs. I'm also curious to know if working women in Japan like Sumire do their own cooking after work. Wouldn't it make sense that since they work extra long hrs, they should simply have dinner out or something to bring home like a takeaway! Anyway, loved seeing Momo upsetting Sumire in the kitchen - spinning & breaking her precious porcelein plates like anything! So cute eh?

Sumire's a Todai graduate so she's an elite eh? I suppose an elite is someone with a university education, proficient in English & works in a big company. I also heard that when one is employed as such, they don't normally change jobs whenever they get a better offer, that is they stay loyal to one company. Is that true?

I saw another JDorama in which Koyuki also acted, Boku ... something (I can't remember), she was also an elite worker in the Tokyo Stock exchange but quit from the rat race so that she could get some peace back in her life. I think the characters in that story (Koyuki's role & that of SMAP Tsuyoshi's) is not the norm in Japan. What I think is normal (regarding work & employment in Japan) is the one potrayed in Kimi wa Petto. Do you agree? Any comments

Come to think of the date raping scene in epi 6, how come Sumire still likes the senpai? Any clues abt this from the mangga, anyone?

Well, I haven't read all the way through the manga yet, but I do know that in Japanese culture things that are normally considered "faux pas" and rude become different when eveyrone drinks and gets drunk.

Say, your male coworker tries to kiss you or touch you at work. That would be totally unacceptable.

However, if he did that while your entire office was having a party (like in KWP) and drinking and doing karaoke, then it's just something you laugh off the next day and forget about.

Since Sempai was drunk, I think Sumire feels she can excuse him for that. He was just expressing his inner feelings but didn't have a sense of self-control. She knows that he loves her very much, he just expressed it wrongly because he was drunk.

If this is wrong, can someone please correct me? This is just a thought that I picked up somewhere, so I'm not 100% sure. Sweat

It's true. But Sumire graduated from Harvard too, so she's perfect in English. That's why she's an elit, and the most men don't like it. And it's true, that japanese are very loyal to their workplace. Unlike other nationalies.

Sumire graduated from Harvard too? Was that for a post-grad course? I missed that info. Wow, didn't know journalists in Japan are well-qualified. So what was Momo's education background - high school/ college grad?

Thanks violomana for the info. Momo's actions in that episode wasn't angelic too, right? Was that true to Momo's character in the mangga, I mean forcing himself on Sumire like that?
