i watched this couple of times, but there's still bug me . Even i have my own perspective i would like to ask ur opinion.
In the last episode, in the final match, after Hiro threw his glory ball, he seems not so happy and kind of shock for me and he kind of looked or stared to sumone. Was it Hikari or Haruka?? and kind of not understand whe Hiro want to conclude his firt luv by challenging Hideo. His expression was not so clear too, did he expected to win or what? and if he win so what??? Please guys share ur tought here.

I've just finished watching this dorama... and I like everything about it... adn the ending too... okay after reading all your thoughts and opinion, i'll stay with mine I am Hiro+Haruka person... since the first episode...
but actually in manga I'm rooting for Hiro+Hikari... maybe the dorama shows more facial expression and some scene that just got me smile to myself; esp. the good luck charm scene
and btw, i'm d/loading SO hardsubbed torrents... and THANK YOU for that... you guys are fast and excellent... and I know someone did mention about the opening scene Studio Oto Presents.... I like that too....
Great job... hope to see more works from you guys..

I watched the whole thing... in 1 day! I woke up really early one morning (around 4am and just watched and watched until the afternoon.) It was a very good drama, IMHO. I don't know why some people say it wasn't funny. There were at least 2-3 funny moments per episode just to break the tension.
I like how it's told from a past perspective but we don't know what the outcome will be until the very end... and I mean very end. (Really, I was getting ready to get mad after the Koushien part if it ended like it was "planned" with Hikari dumping Hideo and going out with Hiro).
About the end, yeah, I can see why some people think Hiro's confession looks forced, but I don't think Hiro is that emotional of a guy, only when something really bad happens (like losing at Koushien) or Hikari's mom dying is he able to really show emotion, and I think his confession to Haruka is kind of restrained because I think he feels some guilt and is kind of stunned from her confession.
Yeah, it's true, it's kind of like "duh! she likes him!" from the 2nd episode, but she never really says it until the end. Throughout the series, Haruka and Hiro really aren't a couple, or at least not one in love.
The problem is that Hiro gets too hung up on Hikari to really go for Haruka and that Haruka is too respectful of Hikari and Hiro's relationship to "get in the way," even if it means getting her own feelings crushed. It's only until Hiro closes the book on Hikari once and for all that he can "go on" and finally start with Haruka. And I think there's a little guilt, too because it takes... 3 freakin' years to get to this point! Geez!
Regardless, I'm glad the scriptwriters got it right and put Hiro and Haruka together in the end. Anything else would have been just plain wrong.
BTW, as you can guess, I'm an unabashed Haruka fan. Not only is she cute, but her character is really funny and charming. Sometimes I just wanted to beat down Hiro for treating her so badly!
For some odd reason, the flow of the series kind of reminded me of "Dekichatta Kekkon," although the characters in that series hated each other in the beginning. It was a series where you felt the 2 main leads should have gotten together but all this stuff happens and then it looks bleak and then FINALLY it ends like you think it should.

can i join you beating Hiro together??? He was like only want to 'pay back' all what haruka done Yessss the way he treated Haruka that way and Haruka too!! why u so easily accept or forgive Hiro.
Well in the beginning and in sum scenes, can see Hiro kind of "giving Haruka's hope" by saying sum sweet words tho. i think he luvs Haruka but he got "stucked" what he called his first luv to Hikari, so he still kind of curious about this.

After poring through 32 pages, I'm a bit confused. I finished the series yesterday and I have some questions.
Spoliers Follow**********************************
1.What would Hiro accomplish by dragging Hideo to face-off again with him in Seinan ? Since the bat broke, it meant that the pitcher won. I can't reconcile this with Hiro's pronouncement that he wants to put an end on his first love there.
2. Could it be that Hiro knew that he wasn't picked by Hikari ? They met in the grave of Hikari's mom and if Hikari picked Hiro, she wouldn't have said that "Goodbye". If so, why the duel with Hideo ?
3. There weren't much airtime devoted to Hiro-Haruka (coupled with the twists in the final ep), which gives me an impression that Hiro picked Haruka because Hikari didn't choose him.
4. What was the headline about Hideo and FA about in the last ep ? The subtitle read somewhat like Tachibana chases Hiro who holds the FA.
5. Any ideas on why it was entitled as H2 ? Hiro and Hideo prolly (Haruka and Hikari shouldn't cross my mind ) ? Also what about the Days with You ?

I think it's only Hiro's obsession to beat Tachibana. He kept thinking that he lost Hikari over Tachibana just like that, with no competition or fight over it or etc. So when he finally won face to face with Tachibana, he still couldn't get Hikari's luv, he realized that Hikari only luv Tachibana.

***SPOILERS ABSOLUTELY DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE ENTIRE SERIES***
Answers to the questions:
1-2) It really isn't "Koushien all over again" at Seinan. Hikari's heart is not "on the line." Hiro knows this. Hiro calls out Hideo for 3 reasons
a) he wants to see who's the better player. (Hiro says himself that Koushien was more of a thing b/w him (Hideo) and Hikari).
b) It's about making Hideo see Hikari one last time. Before the duel (at Seinan), Hiro tells him, regardless, "there's someone you need to see," meaning Hikari.
c) "Putting an end to his first love." It didn't mean that if he won he would have ran to Hikari. It was more of a therapeutic thing to put the whole Hiro & Hikari thing behind him. I think he knows that he has no chance with Hikari. If she really did love him, she would have said it by now. He knows that Hikari and Hideo belong to each other, which is why he tells Hideo that he has to see her before she leaves.
And Hiro's plan works. Regardless of the outcome, Hideo's reaction says it all. He really doesn't care who won. He quickly packs up his stuff and hurries to see Hikari. He finally realizes how much he needs Hikari.
3) I think you're kind of right. I'm pretty sure if things went "according to plan" after Koushien, Haruka would have no chance. But I don't think Hiro would have gone to see her (Haruka) at the end if he really didn't like her. I just think he was so hung up on Hikari and Hideo that only after putting it to an end could he finally move on with his life.
4) FA in this case does not meet Flight Attendant but Free Agency. The implication is that Hideo is going to go to America, too to face his old rival (Hiro).
5) H2. It's called H2 simply because of the names of the characters - Hiro, Hideo, Haruka, and Hikari. I'm sure they could have called it H4, but hey, H2 works.
Kimi to Ita Hibi = "The days I was with you" I think it's self explanatory. The narrator of the story is Haruka. "Kimi" is you, but a kind of "term of endearment"-you, so naturally Kimi = Hiro. Thus, "days I was with you" means "the days Haruka was with Hiro."
