Where did this thread come from? Bleah

Gas was $3.59 in Honolulu when I was there, $3.09 at the Costco. Needless to say, the line was long there. Sweat

I finally got some cheaper gas then what this town charges.. I got gas today for $2.69 I think it was.

Better then the $3.17 they charge here.

Gas is about $2.97 for regular here. Add to that higher home prices in NorCal, but I can't think of anywhere else to live....except Hawaii, but the same problems (gas price, home price) still exist.

Earlier today, I met this guy in my building who came from San Fran around 6 months ago. He said the rents in Cali are more expensive than Hawaii however the cost of living there is a bit cheaper.
He told me that food is cheap up there compared to down here.
Not that it matters, the only thing I care about is that I'm not overpaying for my beer down here.
priorities, sir, priorities..... if i have my beer, i have no fears
well san francisco rent is a fuggin' joke....it's way too high...aproaches new york rents, but i'm sorry, san francisco is NOT new york....it's a great city but it's not new york....

i've lived in new york, the bay area, and l.a. so i know and appreciate the differences...

Yeah, that dude told me that a studio up there costs around $1,500.00-$1,650.00 on average.
That is crazy. Period.

I'm moving next month into a 1 bedroom for $1,000.00/month. Utilities included. Which is not bad at all.
1 bedrooms down here usually average that price that dude told me studios cost in Cali so I guess I got lucky.
yeah i believe that...it's straight up fuggin' bull$hit.....the cost of housing is way higher than it should be especially when you consider that the salaries there aren't much higher than let's say los angeles which is substantially cheaper to live in than san francisco or surrounding bay area communities.

ppl up there are getting the fuggin' shaft...and furthermore much of that expensive housing stock is old as FUCK.....often time it doesn't even include a parking spot and parking in san francisco is a nightmare
ahochaude wrote:

Where you living, Tu? LA?
How much you paying for your rent?

The rental market in San Fran is straight up bull$hit. If you're an average joe, living must be tough.
Tu_triky wrote:

about 1200....yeah, it's way over-priced in the Bay. if u are an average joe you're gettin an average sized plunger up your ass...

Rent is expensive in SF, but is reasonable (I guess) in the rest of the Bay Area after the dot.com bust. I'm paying $1200 for a two bed place in Fremont. There was a time (again during the dot.com boom) where is was $1200 for a studio. Beaten Now if you meant mortgages, then that's a totally different matter.
yeah true...but you live across the water, you have to take the bridge...to get to the penninsula or the City...those areas are markedly more expensive than the East Bay.....

Yup, true that. First figure in $3 tolls (going to $4 next year), a relatively inefficient public transit systems (sure it's available, but not well connected), and well, some of the savings goes to travelling to the expensive areas.
at least you have bart and cal train....we have sh*t down here....but then again....if you smart you'll know how to take alternate routes to minimize your pain.....if you rely on a bridge you are f*ked....one time i got stuck on the san mateo bridge going back home to san mateo for almost 2 hours because some fool got into an an accident....when i scoured my car and found one lone cigarette i felt i had one the mega millions grand prizes...because otherwise i was going to jump off....
hey sorry y'all. i noticed that this was in the "Food..." thread and, hate to be a killjoy and all, but i think this is a more appropriate place here. Thx! Victory! Peace!

do you ride when it's even a little wet out? even if it's barely drizzling, it's slick as hell.

i don't mind the wet but sometimes i just can't be bothered putting my wet weather gear on. i once got caught out in the snow coming home from work. i've never been so cold in my life Beaten my visor kept steaming up. if i opened it i got a face full of snow. i was in a lose:lose situation!!
