oh, sorry, with light traffic about 25-30 minutes....due south. it's actually not that far for me...if that traffic was pretty bad i could just get off the freeway and take the streets...prolly 30-40 minutes.

The city of Torrance California, a suburb of Los Angeles with 130,000 thousand residents, has approved a plan to use a $10,000 grant from the Friends of the Torrance Library to purchase a collection of anime and manga for the public library. The he collection will be aimed at a younger audience but is expected to attract adults nonetheless.
This is awesome.
Wish my library would stock some mangas.
I have a list of titles I wouldnt mind checking out.
Still havent had time to watch the end of Gankutsuou.

no actually. i haven't been to anime expo in several years...they've grown so big they are quite the media event...largest con in america for however long now....an interesting but useless fact...i think the best one was AnimeCon 91 (i was a little gimp then...my parents took me) up in San Jose...that was the predecessor of Anime Expo and at the time was actually backed up by a major Japanese animation house, Studio Gainax.

Gokusen 2 on LA TV Station (2005-10-06 14:18:03)
KSCI 18, which aired the first season of The Gokusen back in 2003, will be airing season 2 starting October 16th at 9pm. The series will be broadcast as part of a Japanese block of Japanese broadcasting prepared by UTB. UTB has informed us that most of their dramas, including The Gokusen season 2, have English subtitles.
