The next time I go I would like to stay in the Ikebukuro section again so I will definitely check out the gyoza stadium. Hmm gyoza for breakfast ...sounds good to me. Thanks Tu.
Did it rain most of the time you were there?
no but we had a couple of days of rain because a massive typhoon was headed toward tokyo that eventually veered off in another direction....so we didn't get hit full force....it did rain very hard for a short while...trust me...didn't dampen my spirits too much...ain't got time to be wastin' time at the hotel...even if it was hella pimp!

Aaaah soooo nice!!!! You must have some nice memories!
The first time I went To Tokyo in 1991 I stayed in the Century Hyatt Hotel in Shinjuku. The more I read and write about Tokyo the more I want to go back right NOW!!!!

Yes money helps! I know what you mean about the weather. Rain or shine, who cares...you are in JAPAN!!!!
I have stayed in one other hotel in Tokyo but for some reason I am having a hard time remembering its' name. Nice place...good buffet breakfast. I'll have to look it up. Those hotel pics are lovely. Your pics very good. I like them a lot. The Japanese have such an eye for beauty and balance, don't they?

oh how i so agree with you!!! yeah the japanese aesthetic is so exceptionally impressive...it constantly blew me away...whether it was the understated elegance of a zen garden or the impressive cutting edge look of modernity in a hotel, restaurant or retail shop.....i honestly felt that i had stepped into the future......as if i lept forward in time....

tokyo IS the future city!
Yes I know what you mean. The odd thing is that when I travel to Japan most of my time is not spent in Tokyo, but in Fujinomiya at my head temple at the base of Mt. Fuji. I always feel like I stepped back in time while I am there. Not just the sights but the sounds and smells as well. The entire feel is sooo beautiful. Then when I go to Tokyo it is back to the future and also beautiful in a totally different way.

yeah until i went there..i didn't realize japan was so heavily forested....the country, if you will, is very beautiful......there were moments were i literally felt isolated from the rest of the world and all i could see was thousands of trees for miles in all direction yet not a sound to be heard....it was surreal....as overused as that term it is...it was...

A true country of dichotomies. Can't wait to experience it again.
i went there! i saw the tokyo auto salon there as well as several shops ... unfortunately when i went there there was no friekin' sunshine..lol...went to the 60th floor observatory and couldn't see jack....it's supposed to be the 3rd tallest building in tokyo i believe.
notice the lack of sunshine
didn't get a chance to go to ikebukuro, and the sunshine building, maybe next trip to japan.

yeah there were areas of Japan i like that were away from the big city, like Hakone, lake ashi area, very rural-like and peaceful. Kyoto was nice too, but i got a feel for what japan was like when i rode on the shinkasen from tokyo to kyoto. But perhaps next trip i can expand my visit to those areas more and Hokkaido areas. I really like the big city of tokyo best, so much to do there, but so much money to spend there too.

nice hotel pix, yeah, park hyatt in Shinjuku, got a chance to visit the Lost In Translation hotel....
