Jisatsu! You're my hero! Thanks so much for not only the episode and special but for the english manga scans as well. That means I can understand what's going on without waiting for the subs!

*needs subbed version* Looks like it's gonna be AWESOME!!! I saw all the previews and everything about it and it feels like i saw half of it already! still, it wouldn't be same as the actual one
... soo please post if find the subs!! If there's anything with jun in it, I MUST WATCH!!
Just saw it. It's pretty good. It's really easy to HATE Matsumoto Jun's character in the beginning. It seems pretty much focused on Domyoji-Tsukushi-Ryu, but I think that's where all the action is anyway.

ok, this is laziness to the X!
i'm just gonna paste what i wrote on the arashi thread here!
hyd did surpass my expectations!... with jun, as usual... i think he improved on his acting too yay!
i think it's blown the twnese mg to god knows which solar system... and the manga can go to the longkang (drain) as well (i hate both). thank god for the short 9 eps format! kowtow to the japanese!
it's so direct straight to the point and they've taken out all the extra soppy, irritating bits and sort of compacted to something where i can focus on a reasonable storyline.
but coz i sort of know the story, i really hope domyoji keeps to this sort of personality instead of turning into some irritating wimp in the later eps....
and gacktsama dear, since we all sort of 'grew up' with the real jun, we know he can't even strangle a chicken with all his nail polish . but i think his acting as domyoji sort of won me over to concentrate on the character itself instead of jun jun jun.
so, personally, i think it was very successfully done. and thank god they hired a better fighting coordinator than those cheap gokusen stunts (i was kind of skeptical at first)! whew!
and oguri shun, well, portrays his character really well.
but thank god really that jun didn't get that rui part, coz i just realized he wouldn't have much to do other than acting shin all over again... (cool, suave, reticent) whew... domyoji is a much more challenging character ne!
and at first, i thought hyd was gonna be an awful next step for jun in his career, but i change my mind now, seeing that domyoji actually can give jun space to grow and 'practice' more on other personality aspects!
overall, maybe i'm biased, but i think jun as domyoji was the most outstanding/memorable character/actor, followed by shun (but somehow i find him kind of dull, just me maybe...). i'm still not so sure about the lead girl though. she's a good actress, but somehow, not exactly sparkling. maybe later eps will get better... as for the other 2 f4, one looks like a martian, one look like their unkle.
and ya, i love domyoji's mom! "stop it! light now!" i mean, she's great!

is it just me...or did the music sound eerily like harry potter >.<; i think someone mentioned this in arashi thread..but yeah its the first thing i thought when i heard the music.
and to be truthful..although a lot of ppl are dissing the tw-meteor garden...i think the taiwanese f4 is much more...believable...cuz they just look stronger/buffer and more intimidating than these guys
but i do agree that their acting sucked really bad >.<;;
if i were making my own hyd...this would be f4:
tsukasa: jerry (tw tsukasa...if he could act better..)
rei: oguri shun is totally awesome as him...he needs to get some fat tho! XD theyre all pretty skinny
sojiro: ken (tw sojiro, although i dont like him bahh...)
and matsujun should be akira..he fits the playboy style more >.>
Yea! Finally watched the first episode of HYD! Gosh, how long I waited for a Japanese drama version of this manga! I must say, it was a lot better than what I expected. I was kinda skeptical at first with Matsumoto Jun playing Tsukasa (actually thought Akanishi Jin would have been good for this role at first). Jun's a good actor, but I couldn't picture him as the intimidating type. But, he played it off well and he really transformed (still gotta get used to his new hairdo though)!
The actress that played Tsukushi was kind of bland at first, but in the end she showed some spark! I really liked the background music too (the opening credits was so peppy!) Looking forward to more and Matsushima Nanako coming aboard! I didn't know she was gonna guest star, kinda shocked when I saw her picture in the preview! (I thought it was some kinda commercial in a wrong place.)
I actually liked Meteor Garden, but can't compare it yet. But, it's definitely better than the Japanese movie version. Still can't believe that Fujiki Naohito was the original Hanazawa Rui!
