I didn't read the manga (despite my username I'm not really into shoujo manga ) so I really don't know what to expect. Without spoilers, can anyone tell me if this show parallels the manga a lot? A little? _________________

and about the ysi problems...the reason all 6 links ysi got blocked/expire so fast was because there's a change on how ysi work...when you click the link, a window pops up for download. ..after you click the dl button, REMEMBER to close the other window...if not, the file will be blocked very fast. Hope I'm making sense ...I'm terrible at explaining..

In the manga and the anime Makinos friend that was red tagged was actually a guy from her middle school. Makinos "hidden" female friend was someone totally different than Sakurako and she (makino's female friend) was never red tagged (I don't think). Sakurako came later and loused things up. Sakurako also wormed her way in with Makino and the F4 before pulling the Thomas crap by being sweet and gentle and afraid of boys.
I thought it was weird when they had Sakurako being red tagged. I guessed they decided to merge 2 of the characters and drop one. So you probably just forgot that Makino had 2 other friends.

Rui's love for apples was hilarious and the wink I was laughing so hard in this episode! And the elevator scene.. OMG! Makino not wanting to take tsukasa's hand cause it was dirty hahaha and when they fell OMG! Jun! Are you alright, he definitely needs to eat more man! The lady boss is cool too... even though I don't technically know what she's talking about most of the time, she's there as a humour figure XDD Mom so evil and Makino why is she that when she's at work she's always eating haha And her family is so awesome. KAWAII! haha Thomas, he does not look like Rui at all haha well I don't think they'll be able to put someone who looks like Shun unless of course its shun who they put in to play thomas! I'm still skeptical over the yuuki girl, she's pretty but not really very yuki that's all. hope they put her and sojiro's portion in the drama it was awesome! I'm still mad that they didn't end up together though T_T The end part, kindof disappointed, they should have beat her up first to make that dramatic scene and her saying the line of believing crap HAHA. CAN'T wait for ep5!

The show misses out certain parts of what the manga has and adds some parts that the manga doesn't have. Since you don't want spoilers, I won't suggest anything. _________________

And how he joyously joins in, referring to the brother as HIS brother!
And when he's staring at the contrived photograph of Makino and Thomas, and his eyes fill with tears, and he slowly looks at Makino... Oh, the anguish (kurushimi; kuno) on his face! I felt it, too!
And when he was standing in the rain, and Makino appears, and he holds her tight, and when she resists him, he says something about that he was afraid something had happened to her.
And the sincere, vulnerable look on his face when he tells Makino that if she wants Hanazawa Rui, that he will certainly fall for her, too.

well...
the thing is that since i'm a jun fan even bef this hyd, i KNOW he's gonna be great and kakkoi as usual.
but alot of viewers in china (i've been busy in chinese hyd forums) are slowly warming up to him as well!!!
what's awesome is that, at first, by just viewing photos of the cast (height/styling...that er... that 'cup-noodle' hair) and the first ep, they really hated poor jun/dom (they've never known jun existed bef hyd), but so many now have come out to admit their admiration for him after even ep3! most of them commented that his great acting just sort of 'blinded' them on his other flaws!

EXACTLY my sentiments! PERFECT best describes jun as an actor! GAWD! looks like ep 4 can be an overwhelming episode. the wait is killing me! i still haven't watched eps 3 and 4!

By the way, I wonder something about all of you : are you waiting for the super top-clean SARS version to see an episode or do you take softsubs without any negociation? =D
First, I watch the episode soft-subbed, then I watch the SARS version in my TV.
I watch the raw version without the subtitles first., because I don't have the patience and self-discipline to wait for the soft subs. Then I watch the soft subs because I don't have the self-discipline and patience to wait a moment longer for the SARS version. (Actually, to be accurate, I read all of the spoilers posted here even before everything else!) But then I take the time to watch the SARS version later, if it's available, and that's the one I'll cherish and save for my permanent collection, if I have that choice! (I wrote to Amrayu the other day expressing my gratitude for the "professionalism" of the SARS work, incidentally.) They do such a beautiful job!
I LOVE HYD. However, I only have ONE criticism of the story (not the actors):

How can Domyoji fall in love so fast? I mean, Makino punches him out, and now he's in love? Maybe I should have tried that technique on men in my life and skipped the hard work of developing a relationship!
Having said that, I am anxiously awaiting all of your spoilers for HYD-5. And I'll watch the raw version as soon as it comes out and hope you'll explain all the unclear parts until the various subs come out!
