Are you thinking surgical enhancement, perhaps?
I doubt it. I know three or four Japanese girls who are 40 something and are as "well preserved" as Kuroki is. And not a botox shot in the lot of them. There are some strains of good genes in the Japanese mix (in the western mix as well).

Well, I'm a couple of episodes into "Moto Kare" and I have to say I admire the way they are giving the handicapped a chance to perform in a big time show.
After all, a guy like Dohmoto Tsuyoshi, clearly born without a personality, or any acting talent, probably wouldn't be given a chance to play a lead anywhere else. So I'm glad to see TBS extending a helping hand to those less fortunate.
It makes for sort of a dull show, but I guess it's the principle that counts.
I do have to say, I don't like the trend that Rina Uchiyama's career seems to be taking. This is the second time where her character (the first was in Good Luck!) is the secondary, and supposedly less attractive, female.
Good for her acting skills. Bad for her career, as far as Japanese Dramas go.
Once the producers get it into their heads that she's just a supporting player, she might never get out of that box. _________________

somebody mentioned not long ago, perhaps in another thread tho', that she just landed her first lead role in an upcoming drama....don't despair.
Great drama, isnt it! Might be my all time favorite.
I adore Toshiie!
But all the actors give great performances.
Toshiie to Matsu demonstrated to me that Takashi Sorimachi and Nanako Matsushima could really act if given the right role and script. Prior to seeing them in this Taiga drama, I didn't have much of an opinion of their acting abilities. They weren't bad actors like so many of the current popular under-30 performers; imo they were no better than adequate. But to their credit, both of them were excellent in their roles of Nobunaga and Matsu.
