here's how to put spoiler tags, place ['spoiler'] at the start of your message then [/'spoiler'] at the end of your message.
NOTE: REMOVE the ' '. i placed them so that you can see the tag. hehehe

haha i hope nobuta doesn't get with shuuji OR akira. i think the three of them would become really close friends, but i doubt the drama would develop the romance element too far past akira's little crush. usually when there are love triangles, the drama focuses more on one male character so that the audience would want the girl to get with that particular male character, but in this drama, the emphasis so far is the same for both shuuji and akira. i think they will develop their friendship, and personal change more than romance.

the lead in Ichi is Ryo Nishikido...and that story is a real tearjerker..... and he's proving to be more than a match for the charms of both Shuji & Akira.....heh....have to leave my BT overnight to download...it's only halfway through....And I'm jealous of Nobuko too give me one of Shuji or Akira and I'm be happyyyy....

I think they did a good job casting. Yamapi reminds me of Johnny Depp (sp?) in Pirates of the Carribean: there's method behind the madness.

i just completed a crash course in "nobuta wo Produce" I watched all 5 episodes in about 2 days, and I absolutely LOVE it.
I was a little wary of the premise but seeing all review, I thought I'd check it out. The first episode was pretty good, buti found myself really not liking Shuji's character so much, and then just not understanding what Akira was all about. So I gave the 2nd ep a watch the next day and I got hooked. I finished the series so far earlier this morning.
I COMPLETELY ADORE AKIRA in this. He's very random, but sincere and encouraging. I love the pose he made to power nobuta! That was so cute!
and now here's by Nobuta essay:

Episodes 4 and 5 were off the chart on the "Akira adorable-ness scale". Am I the only one who wanted Nobuto to change her confession from Shuji to Akira? I mean choosing Bando was more meaningful, but really, I still wanted to see it. I loved how surprised he was after being confronted by Honto Oijisan. "I like nobuta?! Really?! Is this really real?!"
Then his crush continues into ep. 5. The Tofu Man that Akira lives with is great I love how he inspires Akira to not take things lying down. His reaction to the loveletter. The PDA demo was great! Mariko is a lot nicer than I thought. Shuji doesn't deserve her. Akira's is totally the jealous boyfriend during the date. Lucky he was there, he actually responds in the moment of need. The hand thing was the sweetest thing ever. If I had been in her place, I would have pounced on him. Then when he realizes how mushy he's beenand throws a fit in his room yelling Nobuta's name, and Tofu Man hears him and thinks he's up to something else... That cracked me up. PLus, I lov ehow he's the one that actually pays attention to nobuta's personality.
Shuji's mom is freaking hilarious, and so is the Vice Principal. I love how as she leaves she laughs triumphantly about catching the bird, and then it mimics her perfectly and then she tells it to shut up and starts hitting the cage.
I have the feeling that Nobuta likes Shuji too. I think finding his planner and seeing tht he tried over and over again until he got "flower" was a factor. But yeah, I hope it doesn't happen. I want her to choose Akira. And if she doesn't she can pass him on to me and I'll take him.

yes kame's character shuji is a bit of a tosser...but its still easy to warm to him when he is not putting on a facade...when he's with his family, with nubuko and akira or by himself....well he is changing slowly...but he isnt a bad person just shallow....
as much as it be cute to have nobuta and akira pairing i still would prefer the story will continue with the friendship and bonding theme rather than romance...that would be much more interesting...

ahh ? i agree that shuiji is changing slowly too. from episode one to episode 5, in each episode he seems to mature a lil more. i don't know about the mariko noticing how self-centered shuiji is. cos i downloaded from bt , watched the episodes in chinese subs and from the chinese subs, mariko said "most probably I didn't said it from my heart" from she said the "i'm very happy today". I think she said that and expected shuiji to say it back, but shuiji did not have much of a reaction. so she thinks that she most probably didn't say it from her heart.

Just found a very interesting piece of news, courtesy of DoramaWorld:
Toda Erika is acting in "Nobuta wo Produce" as Uehara Mariko who is said to be the Madonna of the school. When Toda first read the script, she wasn't sure what it meant to be a Madonna and subsequently interpreted it as a cheerful and natural girl popular in school. There is a scene in the drama where Mariko makes lunch for her boyfriend, Shuuji played by Kamenashi Kazuya. Toda says that she thinks that it's kind of embarrassing to cook for the person she likes. However, in Mariko's case, she has self-confidence so she feels happy when Shuuji praises her for the cooking. Toda mentions that to date, it's always been a one-sided affair between Mariko and Shuuji but this might change as the drama progresses.

he goes to mariko during practice, guilty because he hatched the plan of mariko being a mean girl to make nobuta look good. mariko assures shuji that she doesn't care as long as shuji believes what the truth was. that was so selfless of her. i wanted to smack shuji.
It is a one way relationship. but so as not to disrupt the balance, i do hope that nobuko ends up with neither of them.

a lot of people seems to not love Shuji ne...yup I prefer Akira but because he's so adorable (i'm not even a YamaP fan, but LOVE AKIRA).
But minna...don't be too hard on shuji. Kame portray him very well And like Shuji lil' bro said, "You're a nice guy". He really is a nice guy eventhough he doesn't realise it himself. He kinda lost his real self by deceiving people, that he'd gotten use to being caught up in his own game. What i'v notice is he always tries very hard to keep his promise to his so called friends eventho' he really wanted to help Nobuko&Akira with the haunted house. He even starting to feel guilty towards Mariko at the end of their date (he didn't react to her, but notice his expression). He is kind and not that self centered afterall. He's sincere in helping Nobuko from being picked on. Shuji is just lost but now rediscovering himself with the help of Akira, Nobuko and Mariko.
hmmm...a little romance wouldn't hurt.

Could it mean something? Maybe Shuji finally sees the good/honest side of Mariko and find himself liking it? I wonder...
Thanks for that info...this drama is sooo omoshiroi and both..Akira and Shuji are sooo kakkoii...I think it`s just not Kame`s fault that he was chosen for the role as Shuji but yeah..he`s doing well and I think it fits fits well in his role.....ne!!! And P in the role of Akira...perfectly arranged
