u know about utaban, i liked most of it, just the part where takasan (the tall guy) started pulling about kat-tun.
i mean, if u follow johnny's, anyone is darn sure that kat-tun is getting much poplar, probably more than arashi or v6 or TxT or tokio or news or whatever.
him making such statements and arashi going like
"oh~ please dont swich to kat-tun~"
is like......too realistic because thats what actually happening u know lol
im sure both sides had no bad intensions, but it sorta...."itai" if u say it in the japanese way.
its almost not a joke....
i mean come on, they have to do a "akushukai" (hand shake event) in order to pull up sales of wish...
look at the oricon chart board. im not even sure arashi can get weekly top because of shuuji and akira. they dropped to 3rd today
MAN, shuuji and akira.........they are selling lol
ppl might hate my post...
but this is just wat i thought of watching utaban
It IS rather bad taste for takasan to bring up kat-tun. I mean all of them are in johnny's and saying such things to provoke another team into doing something will only create animosity. It doesn't matter if arashi sits or sings in utaban, they are funny and entertaining without takasan resorting to use kat-tun.
Still, Riida is very kakkoi in that doing the flips and all of them dancing "Arashi~ Arashi~ WANT ME" if I was Arashi I'd be reluctant to sing A.RA.SHI too for the nth time but they did it with such flair still and the genki-five-year-old-like skipping. _________________

Thanks so much for those links! I saw lots of ppl talking about it and wanted to see for myself. ARASHI looks absolutely great! Poor Ohno, seeing stars after his backflip. I can totally relate, cuz I get that when I do a cartwheel.... Getting old
But anyways, yeah even though I don't understand Japanese I could see ARASHI being reluctant to sing A.RA.SHI for that first time. They were really soft and didn't have that burst of energy. It was funny though. But then the talk-show hosts made them sing it for like 1298374928 times in it.

i've just realized something, aiba was kinda quiet in the utaban show wasn't he? ohno did the flips, sho and nino looked at the yoga instructor and jun was promoting hana yori dango and sitting on the balance ball. where are you aiba chan? why IS kat-tun so popular now?
-edit
oh and ohno's lil goatee thing is kinda growing on me. it looks better when he's talkign than in pictures i guess. and did you notice, in the hana yori dango interview, the outfit jun was wearing was from this week's episode! _________________

why IS kat-tun so popular now?
because they just are i guess lol
its mainly from gokusen 2, and following that, they had a lot of publicity with dramas and shows and stuff
buts its like 99% akanishijin and kamenashi kazuya popularity thats leading the kat-tun popluarity.
other members are like....almost forgotten.
normal ppl dunt even know their names, which is really sad since the name 'kat-tun' is so famous now.
i mean, i must admit they have those looks that young japanese girls like these days. but not really talented in the sense of acting.
singing and dancing is based on subjectivity i believe, so i shouldnt say anything in definete. but personally, i dunt think they sing very very well. (btw, im not saying arashi is better....i dunt think they sing VERY well as well)
its just that they know very well how to present them selves nicely and look good especially on TV cameras, which arashi should learn more.
edit-
aiba chan is tends to be very quiet at music station or utaban or other talk shows that he appears with arashi members.
thats just him i guess. i used to think he never spoke in utaban because nakai kun is the host and he is a senpai which makes aiba-chan nervous, but it just so happens to be that he never really speaks when other arashi members can speak up for him.
all arashi members are like that lol
they never want to stand out from other members unless they are absoluetly required to

dont mean to rail road you so dont take any offense but your wrong about kattun, i was like that at first i only had eyes for arashi and i still have one and a half on them but abit of my eye goes to the rest of the johnnys and recently kattun. they are considered to be really good at dancing hence picked by domoto tsuyo personally and akanishi has a real good voice, well othing compared to leader obviously.
oh and about aiba chan, in earlier ones, he was the only one who spoke in utaban, like the one where it was taka sans birthday and they ate sushi.
sorry to rant, dont take any offense

thats okay im not offended or anything...
but one thing, this is very wrong lol
where did u get this from ?
its just that he wrote a song for kame (not even for kat-tun) for his solo at the (i think) first concert
its called hanasanaide ai...something like that
and for the aiba chan one, i just wanted to make a point that arashi members dont like to stand out a lot

since i've just become arashi's fan recently.. i haven't watch any of their dramas.. (am catching HYD right now.. and Jun's great!)
anyone seen Tokio? is it good? and what about Yoiko no Mikata? however, this drama kinda reminded me of tsuyoshi domoto's Gakkou no sensei and omg. i'm sick of kids (since i see them EVERYDAY from work!) ....
and any comment about Stand Up! ?
anyone got any other arashi's dramas recommendation? thx~! _________________

You *need* to see Jun's dramas. Gokusen, where he plays a cool, reserved guy, Kimi wa Petto, where he plays an adorable playful boy, and Hana Yori Dango which is going on now, where he plays a millionaire spoiled brat
As for Aiba, his part in Mukodono isn't big but it's a good drama.
Nino is awesome in Stand UP. If you like Japanese boys at all, you need to see it.
Sho's Yoiko no Mikata is adorable but if you hate kids, you'll probably have to give it a miss.

Of all the dramas I've seen, Stand Up! is one of my absolute favourites. Highly, highly recommended. It's lots of fun and very funny - lots of weird, subtle humour.
Two other biggies are Kimi wa Petto and Gokusen. I think everyone will agree that you should check them out.
Right now I'm watching Yasashii Jikan with Nino in it which I think is great.
If you're looking for a Sho drama, I would suggest Kisarazu Cat's Eye. I've only watched a couple episodes raw, but it looks very good. If you need English subs there are none right now, but Japan-TV has plans to sub it.

arashi dramas to watch for sure:
-gokusen (jun)
-kimi wa petto (jun)
-tokyo tower (jun movie <---must watch, sexy)
-yasashi jikan (nino)
-kisarazu cat's eye (sho and junichi okada from v6 <---this guy is great in this show)
-stand up (nino <---star in this drama, yamapi from news, oguri shun <---not so hot in this drama, hiroki nariyama)
-ao no hono (nino <---not watched this yet but heard it's really great!)
basically, in arashi, you watch 2 guys' shows: nino and jun.
nino has gained recognition as a great actor long before jun.
but jun has also recently in these few years improved and is getting accepted like nino, i hope...

i also admit that i was pulled into the arashi fandom by the gokusen charm =D
just on what someone pointed out earlier about aiba-chan not really saying much in utaban. it's true, aiba and nino usually don't really say much when they go on music shows such as utaban and music station. they usually act a lot more subdued and leave the talking to sho, leader and matsujun. i think when they go on music shows, it's not really their job to entertain, but their job to PROMOTE their new single or album or whatever. the entertaining is left in the hands of the hosts, and while arashi may co-operate, they're not really leading the conversation in any case.
but i noticed on utaban nino was talking HEAPS. but on hey!x3 nino and aiba barely said anything unless the conversation was directed AT them. i think when arashi go on utaban, they go on for the purpose of enjoying themselves as well as for the purpose of just 'work'. because utaban is great =D
