lol, I think Ono is injured (yet again) and is recovering in Japan atm.

as for Pierre: he went a year to Turkey to play for Besiktas, but quickly returned this season, he's back to his "home" at NAC Breda (lots of players do that a year or 2 before retiring they go back to their first team where they started out their career) unless you're Dennis Bergkamp hehe he's my alltime favorite dutch striker: seems like he's still improving each year at his age, simply amazing.

IMO the Premier League is the best to watch, well not so because of Chelski but usually the matches are intense.

I totally hate Italian football, but they did manage to beat Holland tonight 1-3, somehow I'm happy that they finally lost (after being unbeaten in 16matches). that shows them they shouldn't be all that confident (yet) and hopefully makes Van Basten realize that he can't just select any (young) player that never proved anything.

Ah, Manchester United.
I like that team. My old soccer coach gave me tons of videos to watch and learn how the pros play. Manchester United was in almost every game on those tapes. I guess coach liked them too.
Don't remember George Best though.

he lived a hedonistic life, bedding plenty of gorgeous women (plenty of miss worlds etc) and drinking to excess eventually becoming an alcoholic when his career started to slide.
his candle burned ever so brightly!

refers to the group where all or most of the teams in the group are famous and kind of good. in 2002, it was group F with england, sweden, argentina and nigeria.

i say "kind of good" because sometimes the the teams do not perform up to expectation. but they sure are famous.

world cup 2002 is the only world cup i followed from beginning til end. my fav team was japan (lost to turkey in round of 16). then s korea and ecuador. s korean performed well - fourth place, lost to germany in semi final, then to turkey in 3rd place playoff. hey! turkey bashed both hosts!

that quarter final between england and brazil was my favourite match. ronaldinho stunned everybody in that match, assisted one goal, than scored an amazing free kick http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5298673748272420240. he was ruled out later, though.

i'm looking forward to world cup 2006. still a long time to go Bleah.
