translation of Chinese TV Clip starting from L'arc's RSG performance
L'Arc~en~Ciel was formed in 1991 with lead vocal Hyde, guitarist Ken, bass Tetsu and drummer Yukihiro (weird chinese pronounciation

)
Japan's most famous pop music/Jrock band.
1993, they released their 1st single, Floods of Tears and got the attention from a lot of fans. 1996, album True was released and sold >1 million. Since then they were unstoppable in Japan. Singles released after were often No.1 on the charts.
1998, on Oricon's year end rankings chart, L'Arc had 7 songs in the top 10. Albums sales passed 10 million mark too.
1999 was their most glorious year. on 1st july, they released both Ark and Ray, selling >2 million copies. They also became well-known all over Asia.
Early this year, Killing Me was released as their 25th single. It became No.1 on the charts.
The first song composed by Yukihiro, New World was the 26th single. It was chosen by the Baseball League as the Live 2005's theme song and was played at the games.
host: although i've been host of this show for so long, i've never come across such a huge band. All 26 singles were big hits and their concerts are always very 'high'. will come back with shots of the Shanghai Live...(New World PV plays)....the concert in Shanghai took 7 yrs of communication and 2 yrs of actual planning to achieve. so it wasn't eay to get them here in China. Fans who have waited so long long for them, some >10yrs finally got to see them live. we interviewed them when they were here.
Hyde: For Asia Live, we went to places we've never been to b4. The atmosphere and the fans were fantastic.
Ken: it's the closeness of the band that allow us to have this success today.
Tetsu: no matter what happened, everyone still had fun
(things they must do b4 going on stage)
Ken: I will clean my hands with a towel b4 going on stage. This way, when i play, there's a better feel of the strings.
Hyde: becos we were playing in China, i learnt some mandarin words like "i eat" etc.
Yuki: i do not eat on that day so that i can reduce the no. of times to the bathroom.
host: L'Arc holds the record here in Shanghai for the most expensive concert tickets. the highest was RMB5000 (SGD$1000!!!), there was only 30pcs and all sold on the 1st day. some ppl couldn't even get tickets. After waiting so long for L'Arc, paying more is also worth it...(Hitomi no jyunin live)...the tickets are so expensive becos of the venue too. it can only fit 8000 ppl. if it was 80,000 then it would be different. L'Arc actually gave some thought on the venue. A smaller indoor venue will have a closer and better atmosphere as compared to outdoors. the ppl at the back will not get to see or hear much at all.
The set, the sound equipment etc was all brought in from japan to provide a high quality concert. let's take a look at the live itself.
Hyde: actually we have always thought about having an Asia tour. But becos of certain circumstances, it was delayed. A lot of time was spent on preparing this tour, but our wish of performing in China has finally come true. I hope our future Asian concerts can be like the ones in Japan. My deepest impression of this concert is that it's outside of Japan. There's a language difference but we could all come together and have fun and overcome this barrier. The crowd was together as one, that's most touching.
This tour to L'Arc is a first, and a piece of history for us. We hoped that everyone could come and witness this touching moment. This is also what everyone has been waiting for.
Host: in Dec 1997, L'arc was without Sakura but they still held their concert and created a record for selling 56,000 tickets in 4 mins. Everywhere they go, they have a lot of supporters. In China, they also have crazy fans. Let's hear what they have to say about the Chinese fans.
Hyde: The fans were crazy. You can see everyone squeezing together, that left an impression. Never thought that there will be so many fans in China. I was touched by the atmosphere and energy of the crowd. From the airport to the venue, i was excited and nervous too. But i had to pretend that i wasn't to control my feelings.
(what members think about their concerts)
Yuki: the quality of my performance is the most impt.
Tetsu: my own performance and the co-ordination with the backstage crew, and the response the fans give me.
Ken: when there's choreograpy in some songs, i sometimes forget and i have to make up my own movements on the spot.
Hyde: On the whole, it looks like a war
Host: Some artistes have fans who are really fanatics. they can come from faraway places just to shout their names. but the power of music is great, good songs can move people... (Jyojyoshi PV)
...L'Arc introducing theselves in Mandarin! HAHA! oh that's the end. Oh my, this is long.
