I read somewhere that Tetsuya Nomura was a fan of Malice Mizer so designed Squall after Gackt. I'm not sure how true that is though

It's true not only was he a fan of Malice Mizer but also of L'Arc~en~Ciel so he tryed to put the two of them together... But Gackt was the only one He could get...
So Nomura-san ask Gackt to do the CGI as will...
But as for Hyde he would not do it...
Others say they don't know why Hyde said NO!..
But my thoughts on this is becoues he was ask to be the girl and to do the CGI for her...
But it didn't stop them from giving Her the Wings anyway...
This all I know by heart... I'll try to look for more info for you if and when I can....

and to Dr.Jackal, Yes and No, Gackt & Nomura-san worked on Squall...
