heh yea the river's frozen over where we are for the most part.. looks so pretty!!!
ah hontou ni?? do they have summer programs or are they full time jobs?? i may come and ask you then after my finals... yay.. thats so exciting! ganbatte to both of us! yay! i get excited just thinking about it
summer prgs....i don't think they have shorter prgs than say a year. AEON is a six month and then they evaluate you and give you an extension, unless the teacher is doing a bad job, then is not offered another 6 mos. Most prgs are a year long. JET is the best, from what i hear, the interview process is similar somewhat to most of the big prgs.
I research five of them, three of which i was strongly going for, to apply, but decided to back out of the whole thing after interviewing with AEON, when i got the rejection letter after two interviews with them...
the best time to attempt and pursue teaching english in Japan is after college, if i were ten years younger, then maybe i will have given it more effort and applied to more of the prgs. "pm" me if you have any more questions regarding this topic.

If you really want to study there, do it! I know I regret it for not doing it.

A great setup.
We had a penthouse too in our dorm, but the girls had the upper levels and we couldn't go there past 11PM. For some reasons, I was always there until 4 or 5 AM, if not the whole night. A friend of mine, in her second year, had the biggest room on the top floor, like 4 times bigger than the regular ones. I was pretty much in her room all the time partying.
Best time Ifve ever had in my entire life. Make sure you enjoy it.

I think it's still cold.
WOW!! that is sooo awesome, that big of a room!! i mean i have a big room and used to have parties here all the time but that room seems much bigger daaaaaang you pulled lots of all nighters huh? i cant anymore... at least not in the penthouse because i always get in a bad mood around 4 or 5 AM (that is, if i'm working... if im watching dramas thats another story)... so its best for me to stay in my room in that case cuz theres a lot i have here that can cheer me up...
ANYWAY...
its still warm in my room, cold outside... why is the air not coming thru the window? grrr... _________________

... and I didn't have any classes on Friday.
As for your window... it seems the laws of physics don't apply. Cold wind should go inside, I don't know why it's not working.
i know!! i kept the door open JUST FOR THAT REASON! oh well. i think its also because of the way our dorm is structured, its two towers, and so the window facing out looks at the other tower, not at the river or at an open area... so the wind doesnt come directly in- and also because theres no wind right now anyway. but anyway...

Don't worry about it. I got that a lot. People used to wake me at noon, lunch as an excuse, because they were pissed that I could sleep all day. _________________

8AM, that's tough. I'm barely able to drag myself out of the bed before 8. I have a flexible schedule, so I'm ok.
What I'm not telling people is, the year after, I had my Friday full from 8AM to 6PM with no time to eat. Retribution for my Friday off on my first term. _________________
